He wasn't ineffective the following week against North Texas. He was 14 of 22 for 189 and made a few nice throws. The ball he threw to Andre Wilson to set up UAB's first TD was a heckuva throw. He had his share of poor throws that night but was far from terrible.

The primary problem, from an scouting perspective, is that defenses have been playing him for the short passes. They have not respected the deep pass. When Jerry Glanville was coach of the Falcons he'd open practically every game with a deep pass to loosen up the defense and make it easier to run the ball(safety won't commit to the run as readily). That is one very important aspect of the long ball.

An idea he shares with Don Coryell, Al Davis, John Madden, & Watson Brown.

AJ is MR dink and dunk. His long balls are accurate, he's just afraid to throw it deep.

I didn't get to listen to much of the postgame on the radio, but evidently coach made a comment about it :/ We should get a better crowd for USM next week though.

Anyone hear what Clark said about the crowd? I saw Fitz Mofor tweet about the poor attendance which got liked by several players. Hopefully it's not something that's too discouraging for them.

Attendance should be better this Saturday, but I'm wondering if we'll see that much of a bump. Alabama is at home at 2:30 against a ranked Miss St team so Tuscaloosa will be crowded. We have a direct conflict with AU vs UGA which kicks at 6. Won't be as much of an impact as going head to head with Bama v LSU last weekend, but that will keep some people away. Hopefully USM will bring a decent visiting crowd.

It’s not just that it was Alabama but that it was the top college game of the week. There’s no sense in being prideful. Just move the game time and if TV can’t accommodate then so be it. For the time of the game, that attendance isn’t horrific though it could certainly be better.

I wish we had kicked at a different time too, but the TV network set our kickoff time before the season started. UAB could not move it.

Auburn opened up at a 2TD underdog...I'm not too concerned about watching that game.
