The soccer team won its second consecutive tournament game by identical 1-0 scores over UAB and FAU to reach Sunday’s championship game. Quite an accomplishment considering:

- USM earned a berth in the tournament for the first time since 2007.
- USM’s 1-0 quarterfinal victory against UAB marked the first C-USA Championship victory for the school since 1999.

Good for them! Hope they take the title!

Championship game is Sunday at 11:00 am central time on ESPN+ vs either 1 seed UNT or 4 seed La Tech who play their semifinal game at 6:00 pm tonight. Tournament being held at ODU so no chance for them to get extra fan support. Good luck ladies.

Correction on game time......it’s a 10 am start central time start, not 11. With the game being played at ODU the time I saw originally was for local there.

Soccer ended up losing 2-1 in double overtime.
