Did Akron have 100 fans at the game?
This Conference won't exist in 10 years at this rate.
Sad.

I semi-counted just start of 3rd q. Less than 100 fans on the band side stands not counting the band. Maybe they were in line for beers.

I agree, and this brilliant ESPN deal is leading to more injuries too. I think there is a direct correlation between the many injuries NIU had last night and the fatigue short rest. At some point an adult has to intervene with this ESPN deal. We will never get leadership from MAC front office or athletic directors, but now even the players' safety is at risk.

Childers played great, but was he playing with a thumb injury? Looked like he was compensating for it the whole night.

Sad.

According to ESPN, the reported attendance was 16,401. Instead of buying tickets why don't we ever just report bogus numbers?

What is with Childers and not wanting to step up in the pocket? Every time there is a tiny bit of pressure he runs backwards or leaves the pocket side to side and takes sacks. Numerous 3rd downs he took losses.

Do you just search and then complain all day long about anything and everything?

Seek help.

Yes, early in the season that was the case. However, there wasn't a pocket to step up in the second half. Bowden lit a fire in his Defense and you saw it in the second half. Our offense wasn't expecting it, and it resulted in sacks or Childers running out of the pocket. Re-watch the game, if possible, and I'm sure you'll see this.

RE: Huskies Zips Game Thread
He really does need to step up in the pocket. In the second half he took some sacks and threw away some passes because he had happy feet. The pocket was collapsing at times but had he stepped up, he would have had time find a receiver or break some runs instead of taking those negative plays. He was doing better with it for a while but now he has regressed. He needs to be coached up better on handling the pressure.

RE: Huskies Zips Game Thread
When the pocket is collapsing, you side step the rush, step up, and give yourself time and room to throw or run while the defenders run past then change directions 180 degrees. It gives the linemen a second chance to engage the defender. If you roll out, the defender only changes direction 45 degrees (and better angle to run you down) and doesn't give the o-linemen a second chance to re-engage. It takes poise and moxy but Childers did it pretty well in some games. The coaches need to keep emphasizing it.
