That is a great movie. That scene has always bothered me. I would not have executed him but I sure would have left him without the ability to fight. Probably shoot him the leg, bandaged him up and give him a crutch.

Maybe they weren't able to find meaningful employment. Afterall, isn't that what the Demons were saying as the reason Isis was fighting? That they needed jobs.
