Exclamation ****OFFICIAL GAME WEEK THREAD UConn vs Tulsa 11/3**** {Homecoming}
A new week, new hope?

Same old song and dance?

I hope not. UConn comes in struggling, the Huskies losing a game they should have won. Their QB is a real threat and can rack up yards. Luckily he seems to be the offense. Tulsa has been strong on defense, containing the QB should give the team a chance to pull down the W.

I would think that a loss here might be the end for Coach Monty. This is definitely a winnable game and it's at home. Losing here would make it difficult to keep him. Hopefully he has a strong game plan and can get the offense going enough to take the drama out of the fourth quarter.

A win is always good and for homecoming even better.

We looked better but UConn is an extremely young team at a ground level rebuild.

Boomer played well and our running backs are something else. Nice to see the freshman with the new red shirt rule.

Too bad the weather wasn't better.

This coming game against Memphis will give us a better chance to tell if we turned a corner with the UConn blow out or if this was a one off.

I would like to see continued progress even if Memphis doesn't end up a win.

All good points.

We had 5 penalties and 1 turnover. So still room for improvement but definitely not too much to really hurt you.

Boomer looked really good throwing the ball. I hope that continues.

UConn is just bad though. Memphis will show us a lot.

That turn over could have been huge if we were facing a more experienced team.

Boomer continues to show me he has what it takes but is inconsitant still and not quite ready. Against talented kids with similar experience he rocked it. Still hasn't shown the deer in the headlights look from what has been a tough run. Too much gun slinger in him I think. He needed the reps and success. Hopefully he can continue it, sometimes you just need to see it happen.

Penalties were better.

I agree with what you're saying. Boomer will continue to get better with time. I thought I read something the other day that said Boomer was putting up better numbers than Evans had at the same point in his career. Cannot confirm that though.

Probably close at least, he does actually throw a good ball though we seem to drop a ton.

Evans and Johnson we're smooth throwers they just seemed to let the ball go. Boomer seems more of a cannon type of thrower, he guns it. Sometimes you can just tell when someone has that it factor though. I think Boomers got it, we just need to polish it up.
