I agree that talk of firing strong is ridiculous. But, that record is really misleading. Last year he inherited QF and rode him the whole season. This season is more about CSS as a coach. I fully expected us to get gashed today. Our 7-0 was SO misleading. We BARELY beat some very awful teams... often with 4th Q miracles. Our play calling is as vanilla as I've ever seen. Starting to remind me of Holtz. Undisciplined penalties everywhere. Defense.... well everyone saw it today for what it really is against a quality opponent. If you forget the record and just evaluate what you see... I don't feel Strong is doing a great job... yet.

I think we can't judge strong until next season. This year is a bit of rebuilding. Next year more about talent he brought in and his scheme.

I agree with this but Charlie can flat out recruit south Florida. When he was at Louisville he out recruited Miami in the city of Miami. I think he just needs some time and a better QB option than Barnett. Just my opinion from the outside looking in.

he is still 17-3
kevin sumlin inherited khalil tate and did nothing with it. you arent giving credit to strong there

1) charlie strong has NEVER been a blowout teams kind of coach, look at his elite years at Louisville, he was barely beating bad teams then too and those were top 15 teams

some coaches have styles that just arent like that.....look at o'leary at ucf..he had a top 10 team that needed "miracles" to be 4 sub .500 aac teams....

2)even if usf was just a 8-4 team this year..does usf have to be a top 25 team every year for it to be successful?

3) your comment makes it seem as if this year is a failure..but you will give him another chance next season...
you are 7-1 with a great opportunity to finish ranked (for the 3rd time in usf history), and a punchers chance at ny6 still on the table

beating temple and Cincinnati isnt some impossible task, and that is the difference between a top 25 season

I don't have a warm and fuzzy about strong either. His Texas team just two years replaced is now a good team. And players fighting coaches is a sign of a loose house. He seems like a good guy and best sutied as a coordinator. Of course I could be wrong.

Well in Miami’s defense they were terrible at the time.

Ok, so hoping emotions have calmed down a bit by now, but what was the deal with the "intentional grounding" call against the Coogs early in the 2nd half?

Yes, King was still in the box. Yes, there was no receiver in the area. But how was it deemed to be "intentional" grounding? That call is a judgement call, it isn't automatic just on the technicality. King wasn't about to get sacked, he had plenty of time, and he wasn't throwing the ball away. It was just a busted route to everyone in the stands, so what did the TV guys have to say about that play? Anything?

That was about as made up a BS call as you can make IMHO. I can't tell you how many busted routes like this and not one single "intentional" grounding call ever made.

It didn't affect the outcome, but jut curious how this could happen.

You have to remember these are the same refs who earlier in the game ruled a ball, that skipped off the turf, an interception for usf...

Congrats UH on the win. King gave an all out performance that deserves offensive player of the week. What a spin move on that TD run.

All refs make mistakes I get it but you right that interception should have been reviewed, it was not and instead it was snapped immidietly as if someone else wanted a different outcome.

Not trying to take anything away from USF, yes they're a fine football program I'm just glad this interception was the one play that could have given us our second L.

Something tells me you don't approve of coach Applewhite and his brilliant coaching skills. Hahaha... I kid... I kid.

Remember it was snapped immidietly so perhaps they weren't able to see a convincing replay and losing a timeout was not in the cards.

at most that play was "accidental grounding". the keyword is intentional. i read an article awhile back when the aac merged with the acc in their officiating. and the acc officials said they were going to take over because the aac officials at the time were subpar from everyone else. they blasted the whole conference but so far the officials have been garbage. it looks like we did the merger just to attach ourselves with some type of "p5" connection.

i definitly like last years officiating compared to this years.

the is the most blatant hold calling ever..both 52 and 98 are being held from behind by there jerseys

you made 3 different posts saying it wasnt a legit hold call, and it was the refs. that isnt close to reality
