The format for tomorrow night’s Basketball game at the Jack has changed. The price (FREE) and the start time (6:30pm) and open seating (sit anywhere) remains the same. The change is, rather than it being an exhibition against the (Division II) LeMoyne-Owen College “Magicians” (who have “disappeared” from our schedule), the event will now be a Maroon and White scrimmage. This change is due to current NCAA rules, not the fault of the Magicians.

Hope you can bring some canned goods and non-perishable food items to be donated to the Trojan Food Pantry to help make a difference in our community during this holiday season.

Here is an idea, how about you wear either maroon or white and sit behind or across from your chosen team color and practice your cheering for this season. Hope to see you at the Jack tomorrow night!

This "current" NCAA rule has been in place for a number of years. And I'm sure that we have entered into a contract with LeMoyne-Owen to play this exhibition, and likely are obligated to pay them under that contract whether we play the game or not.

It doesn't bode well that the current coaching staff didn't know this pretty simple and long standing rule before they over-scheduled the preseason!

I agree that is alarming. Besides the coaches we have an athletic department staff that should have caught this way before now. That being said I will not be able to attend so give us a report on the new players please

While that would be very interesting, it might start a dynamic between players on the team that we don't want.

Wow-that was a fun game to watch. Lot of offense. Our new point guard is the real deal.
