agreed, it is a process, team is much more fun to watch and it will take until middle of next year to fully evaluate SL.

Watched "First Man" last night as Neil A said "That's one small step..." But really - while the team doesn't look overly talented the kids seem to be playing hard for the coaches.

It sounds strange to say this about a 2-win team, but we've overachieved all season. We simply aren't talented or deep enough to win a lot of games (yet), but some things went right for us against superior teams, and it gave the illusion that we were better than we really are. Our play during the first four games set expectations pretty high and got everyone, including myself, very excited.
The reality is, the 2018 squad is a 3-4 win team at best. We are on the right track but we're obviously not a MAC contender this year, and probably not even next year (though we'll win some games). The difference I see with the state of the program now is the level of talent that came in this season and what is in the pipeline for 2019 is head and shoulders above the 2013-17 classes. We've all hoped for "next year" for many years (save 2012). I am still all in on this coaching staff bringing a winner to Kent. This time, there is a "next year", and we will make a bowl game next year, and be in position to compete for a MAC East title in 2020.

Woody Barrett tweeted a pic of him focusing on "Ball Security"
to which Coach Lewis replied #BallSecuityisJobSecurityBothYoursandMine

Something I was thinking about today... Did the coaches screw up with Dustin Crum this year? By making him the holder on FGs he played in every game and can't get the 4 or fewer redshirt. That would've given him a shot to start a year after Barrett or given him two years if Barrett bolts as a grad transfer.

No.
He is 80 percent to transfer out after this season. QB after Barrett is the young man from Maryland, Collin Schlee.
