houston has the #1 offense in the nation and returns almost every key player returns next season..and we are sure to pick up some pieces in the offseason

we will play likely top 15 oklahomo (@ oklahoma), likely top 15 wazzu, and likely c-usa favorites unt (@unt).....that is a monster ooc... and we play ucf in the regular season

we still have 1 more spot to fill...many are thinking it will be an fcs....but school like miami are available....

my internal debate:
1 side: schedule miami, if we get another decent p5 on schedule that is 100% a undeniable playoff schedule... that might even be a top 2 seed playoff schedule.. why risk it incase 1 team flops, ensure a playoff spot

other side: our schedule is already monster enough, and we "should be" in the playoff with a schedule like that, why must we go the extra mile and risk a loss...
and if we scheduled miami, that schedule will be used against every g5 for a LONG TIME.."look at houston's schedule, schedule like that if you want a playoff spot"
we are well aware making a schedule like this is once in blue moon luck situation, but the p5 bias will make it seem like this is something that is easy to do and g5 are choosing not to
2 top 15 are good enough

If Miami is willing to do a H&H we better sign them over an FCS. We are going to have plenty of easy games , and way more than a school from the P5 would have so we literally would want to schedule as many P5s as we can. Perhaps we lose to WSU, but beat OU miami and UNT... we still could be in the mix in the playoffs if there are a couple of 2 loss p5s with similar
schedules.

We wouldn’t have that chance without the 3rd P5.

Of course we have to win these games for any of it to matter but just from a fans perspective we have to hope for a loaded schedule if we want to feel like we belong with them.

That is two of the most elite Air Raid offenses in the nation. Need I tell you what happened to our defense the last time we played the Air Raid? We lose eight... EIGHT defensive starters to include Ed Oliver, Austin Robinson, Isaiah Johnson, Roman Brown, Jerard Carter, Nick Watkins, etc.

I am not optimistic.

Our weakest link is the defense no doubt. They've shown glimpses of progress so my hope is by next year they would be much better. As far as the starters I'm not too concerned as most just started to play this year so it's not like they were 4 year starters. I'm hoping that with the incoming transfers and our injured players back we can pick up very nicely.

Oklahoma like someone said will be breaking in a new starter and I have no hard feelings about Washington. Im more optimistic than most.

The tech game was mostly due to missed tackles and that's something I've seen less of since then.

Never ever schedule for the CFP. It wont matter a lick and it likely will just get your team worn down because the typical G5 program simply isnt as deep. Schedule to fill seats and win the conference. The bottom line is your not going anywhere if you cant win your conference.

After giving the Wash St Advocare Kickoff game some thought---Im wondering if it was nothing more than UH playing the long game by doing the Advocare Kickoff game a solid favor by moving the Wash St game to NRG. This will create some additional goodwill--and perhaps a promise that we will be playing other high profile regional teams in the game fairly regularly in the future. The 40K Advocare got for Miss St vs Tech game this year may have opened some eyes to just how impressive the 70K attendance was for the 2016 UH/Oklahoma game. The Academy Texas Bowl (run by the same folks) might take note of that fact was well.

It was Ole Miss and Tech. Tech fans certainly did their part as we had 25-30k fans at NRG for a team that many predicted would finish 8th in the Big 12.

When Tech played LSU in the 2015 Texas Bowl, attendance was 71,307 and Tech easily had 35-40k in attendance. Still a Texas Bowl attendance record. That game beat out UT-Arkansas, UT-Missouri, A&M-Kansas St and UH-TCU.

The Texas Advocare Kickoff is cool but outside of LSU-Wisconsin and UH-Oklahoma, attendance has been lackluster from far away teams like Okla St-Miss St and I doubt Wazzou brings that many fans to Houston.

Congrats to Houston on scheduling a quality game.

Kickoff Games are the future. UCF needs to get into a Chik Fil A Kickoff or something.

Maybe World Camping Stadium can host something soon.

Camping World does have a kickoff game.

2016 FSU vs Ole Miss
2018 Alabama vs Louisville

Future announced
2019 Florida vs Miami
2023 LSU vs FSU

Not sure what happened in 2017. Maybe UCF can slide into a 2020-22 game somewhere. We don't really have any marquee games then but we do have openings. Don't hold your breath though Florida Citrus Sports are not fans of ours.

That’s even worse. I totally forgot they already do this...

Looks like it’s purely SEC vs ACC. That sucks!

and they will be 7+ favorite for all of the remaining 3

and was projecting for next year, ab is the best c-usa team this year, look at their depth chart, they have something like 10 senior starters on offense

Keep getting good in basketball - UH is allowed to win a championship there.

WSU will be breaking in a new QB next year.
So, UH may out-score OU and WSU.

Seth would be the better of the two. I think Kliff will survive another year. He had em ranked until he lost his starting QB.

the end goal is top 4 but until then we have to keep making dents and hopefully one day the dominos will fall. this is just like what ucf is doing right now. it may not seem like much but eventually over time you wont be able to ignore the accomplishments of the AAC.

right now our P6 campaign is working.. slowly but surely.

why in the world would houston move a home game vs a perennial bottom feeder (this year notwithstanding) to an off campus nfl stadium?
