Smart for the Cards to do that so that they don't lose him to another team.

Gonna be hard to keep another team from naming him a manager. I believe the Cards are pretty happy with theirs.

Unquestionably the best manager in the history of Memphis professional baseball. So happy to see him get this call up. And yeah, at some point, someone will hire him as their manager if St. Louis doesn't.

RE: Way to go Stubby
I wonder why they didn't give him the 3rd base job with Jose Oquendo staying in Jupiter Florida all season. I also wonder what happened with Chris Maloney? He also managed the AAA Redbirds a couple of years, got reassigned to St Louis and worked first and third (while Oquendo was out a year with knee surgery). Then this past year he was back in the AA Southern League managing the Mississippi Braves.
I'm thrilled for Stubby though. Most of the coaches and players have come through Memphis.
