And a great option for the MW.

RE: New School maybe
I wish they would add. Yes it’s expensive but even rural high schools can scrape together a team. Money isn’t an issue for GCU. I love college hoops but the football season is what most fans can’t wait to kick off. (No pun intended)

Maybe it’s because I’m from the south, but football is special. I know GCU is modeling differently. They committed to soccer. Fine. But they could still add football and get an amazing following. Even nearby Arizona Christian plays.

I wonder what amazing Cardinal they could bring in as coach? Or would they go back after Bruce Arians? Rescue Kiffin from Boca Raton and lay down tracks for the Lane Train to pull in to West Phoenix? Or just grab Carson Palmer or Larry Fitzgerald? They like local pros who bring instant interest to the program.

Can anyone imagine Barry B calling the play by play for football? I can only laugh when I think of it and how he’d think of some orgasmic delightful way of announcing a touchdown. If for no other reason, Canyon needs football. Haha!

GCU wouldn't do it unless its FBS and they don't want football to this point.

Angelo St - possible.
Arkansas-Fort Smith - not happening
Cameron - no way
Dallas Baptist - they play D1 baseball, ex-WAC, but I don't see it
ENMU - no way
Lubbock Christian - no way
Midwestern State - highly unlikely
Oklahoma Christian - no way
St Edwards - unlikely
St Mary's - unlikely
Commerce - possible
TAMU-International - no way
TAMU-Kingsville - possible
UTPB - unlikely
Texas Womans - nope
UT-Tyler- no way
WTAMU - possible
WNMU - no way

So basically we have Angelo St, Commerce, Kingsville, and West Texas, the ones with the largest enrollments. Aside from the re-alignment yahoos on here, is there any real evidence that any of these schools are even interested in D1?

Angelo State could go,
Dallas Baptist have been talked about as an expansion candidate in the past.
Midwestern State could. They do have the facilities.
St. Edwards or St. Mary's do have a huge endowment that they could move up.
Commerce had rumors a few years back on moving up.
Kingsville was in the news about merger with Texas A&M- C. C..
West Texas was a former FBC Independent. Reuniting with New Mexico State could renew the rivalry.

Cameron in Lawton, Oklahoma might and could restart football because the Army base Fort Sill is there. Play H/H with Army in all sports could bring out the Fort Sill soldiers to cheer the Army Academy on.

UAFS student enrollment have grown faster than the other D2 schools just behind Arkansas Tech.

Now, We may not know if this is all LSC. Some schools are not happy with the NCAA D2 leadership when some schools got all of their programs post season banned. Way harsher than D1 leadership gave out.

Central Oklahoma was a former LSC could move up with them.
