Hoping the D keeps them shut down, but if their QB is on could be a long day. Taking a lot of people, Huskies will be in Provo yelling for our kids.
REPRESENTING, finally a good trip for you.
Yes, hope you had a great time Mile High.
I spent a lot of time in and around Provo about 10 years ago. Very nice and it is as scenic as it looked on TV.
We had a great, great day! THANK YOU

I will happily eat that crow. I thought for sure that Huskies would wear down late. The freaking defense is amazing. Well done dogs.

RE: BYU vs. NIU Predictions
I could be wrong about this, but the last 7-6 NIU win was 11/16/68 against BGSU at home. (I was there.) John Spilis ran the opening kick-off back for a TD. BG scored a TD but missed the extra point. Rumor had it that they left their kicker at home. Some notables on this game: it was our last home game as as a small college. The next year, 1969, we were moved up to the University Division, D1 or Major College status. It also poured that day, tore up the field--but it was the last game on grass played at what is now Brigham Field. Astroturf was put in for the 1969 season. If there was another 7-6 NIU win, I don't remember it, but that does not mean there has not been one. Need to do research on that.
Update: Daily Herald reports we beat Akron 7-6 in 1988.

It is always better to win ugly than lose. Thank you for beating BYU, as a Utah fan it makes my life so much better.

Offense didn't show up and they win. Who woulda thunk.

Not me. The lack of points is one thing. But the time of possession and total yards is another. Obviously BYU's offense is sub par. Similar to ours but not quite as bad.

I think if someone said we only score 7 points in this game everyone predicts a loss. Definitely quite the feat to win with 7 points. Good job defense!

I read or heard that it was the lowest scoring FBS win of the year.

The coach from that team (Howard Fletcher) would be 105 today. Always wished Huskie Stadium was natural grass but it’s interesting they were so quick to go to Astroturf. Also NIU played the Aztecs in Qualcomm that year...like last year.
How was attendance back then? Did everyone wear red or dress up?
