We are not going to win this game if we aren't willing to throw. Freshman mistakes could lose it for us, granted, but we have to be willing to mix it up.

I think I may try to walk on as a punter tomorrow. I am absolutely certain I can punt better than the guy who is punting for us now.

I don’t think we will be able to go toe to toe with Toledo as we can’t seem to stop them on defense. Should be interesting to see if Toledo will load the box now that Wassink isn’t in

Yup. The following three games won't matter if we lay an egg tonight. Any hope of a MACC appearance will be gone.

The great thing is, no matter what happens in this game, we still control our own destiny. So I think Coach Lester doesn't need to treat Eleby like he did Reece Goddard last year. Let him run the offense. No better way to learn if he is going to have to play multiple games in a game that ultimately means nothing for the MAC championship hopes.

We had the players last year. I think the secondary getting decimated in the offseason kind of doomed it this year but I do think the talent is here. Very young defense that will probably take a big step in 2019.

That said I am not convinced that Daoust is the answer. But I imagine he'll look better next year.

How did we win 6 straight with this defense?

Wassink is good but I have a feeling the dropoff isn't huge. But we have to let Eleby throw!

Well, I've pointed out several times that maybe our opponents have made it look like we've been improving on defense as opposed to actual improvement.

Okay. So that's terrible play calling on defense. You bring a ton of pressure on defense, but play 15 yards off the ball when they need 6. That's an easy throw.
