The difference between ODU with and without Dickens is a tale of two seasons

Mostly adds depth to a position where it was much needed. But word is there is much to be optimistic about. 7 footer who can run the court, very athletic and should contribute on both sides of the court. Time will tell.

I've heard good things. Former 3/4 star recruit. 7 foot, real athletic and can run the floor. I expect him to be a really good rebounder and block a ton of shots with some highlight transition dunks. Not sure he's a back to the basket guy yet.

Setting aside the overly optimistic and pessimistic outliers, the general consensus among out posters is one of cautious optimism. He is long. Reports from those few who have seen him in practice say that he is fast getting up and down the court and is very athletic.

But he is unproven, and we all know that practice is not the same as live play. It will be interesting to see how he performs while getting banged by opposing bigs in the paint.

The main reason for optimism is not that we expect great things from him this year.
It's that he completes what is now looking like a solid team at every position. Before his waiver, we had something of a glaring hole in our line up. It hopefully now has been filled.
