I'll be there, and at the R Association tailgate in the Roost, as well.

Can one or more of the attendees post updates for those of us that could not make the scrimmage tonight?
Thanks!

Follow At the Roost on twitter, he's doing a good job of updates. 4-0 A&M last I saw?

The offense woke up in the 6th. According to twitter. 3 hits including a bases loaded double by Brewer, a hbp, and bb. Inning called with 2 outs and bases loaded. Game tied 4-4.

Hey, he looked great the first 4 batters he faced....and unlike in years past, he didn't lose control after giving up those first two hits. He continued to throw strikes. That's progress. Both he and Jackson P. each lost a ton of weight and look in great shape.

RE: Baseball fall exhibition v Texas A&M on Friday Oct 26
Aside from Justin Collins, who went 4 - 4 until finally making out in the 9th inning, the offense was listless against A&M's top 2 pitchers (the opening lefty pitched for TeamUSA and will likely be a preseason all-american), but woke up in the middle innings. Brewer with a couple huge, two-out bases loaded hits (5 RBIs)-- both crushed...and we likely would have scored more, but then ended one of the innings with Rice having the bases loaded. (Each half inning had a 9-batter limit, and we had batted around.) Comeaux had 3 hits before I left in the bottom of the 11th, but all were infield hits. On the mound, Moss rebounded nicely from last week's poor performance against SHS. Jefferies, Parthasarathy, Esquivel, Wood and Deskin all looked good and pitched scoreless frames. Greenwood was charged with 2 unearned runs, but pitched as well as anyone in his one inning of work. Strikeout - Strikeout - walk- E-6 - "hit" (slow bouncer than any halfway decent 2B would have easily grabbed, but Gneiting never got to the ball) - strikeout. If Greenwood gets a waiver and is eligible, he'll likely be out Sunday starter, that is unless Bragga/Barton think Jefferies would be more valuable as a weekend starter vs. jack-of-all-trades out of the pen.
Keep in mind, we missing two of our best hitters (Dicaprio, Edwards) and a couple of our best pitchers (Canterino, Garcia) still haven't pitched this Fall. BTW, Andrew Dunlap, Dane Myers and Ford Proctor were in the house, and all looked great.

I was disappointed to see that every single in-game tweet by Kendall was touting Aggie players. Only his post-game tweet did he mention the Rice positives of Collins and Brewer, but he never mentioned or tweeted about any of the Rice pitchers, all of whom looked good, save for Kravetz's second inning and whomever pitched the 12th inning (after I left).

Some great news-- just heard that Mizzou transfer, RHP Greenwood, has received the NCAA waiver and is now eligible to pitch this coming year for us. (Apparently, he transferred to be close to home since one of his parents has been diagnosed with cancer.) Don't be surprised if he's our Sunday starter.
