Oh and you have to have divisions to have a CCG with 10 teams.

Wrong, you can also play a CCG without divisions if you play a straight round robin. For us, that would have meant playing 9 league games. That is how the Big 12 does theirs. 10 team round robin, 9 league games. Top 2 play in title game.

It has been said numerous times (by terry and other league officials) that’s never going to happen because in order to play round robin, you’d have to drop down to 3 OOC games and majority of the league wasn’t on board with that

My knee jerk opinion is that I would just as soon play the 9th conference game in place of the obligatory FCS game. I’ll hang up now and listen to why that is a dumb idea.

Is it NCAA rule that to have a CCG you either have divisions or play round robin??? Not sure why that would be a requirement.

it's a requirement that the 2 division be of equal number of teams & each division plays a round robin or the whole conference plays a round robin.

Mainly, because the Big XII pushed for the option especially after not having a CCG costed them from having one or both TCU/Baylor to get into the 1st CFP, bc they tried to double down w/ co-champions.
