RE: CAA Week 9 Standings, Games & Other Games of Interest
-Worst Bud Foster defense I've ever seen. They've given up 45+ now to ODU, Notre Dame, and Ga Tech. ND...ok, they're pretty good. But, ODU and GT? Mediocre at best. And, the Hokies had an extra week off to prepare. GT had an extra week to prepare for the Hokies too. So much for extra time to prepare for Paul Johnson's funky offense being a huge advantage.

-The ACC Coastal is absolute garbage. I can't believe I'm saying this, but I think UVA has a legit shot to finally make the ACCCG and in the process end their awful losing streak to the Hokies this year.

-Va Tech has developed one of the best pregame lead ups ever in the game. I'll give them credit. It's good. But, once the game starts, the team on the field doesn't match the hype. I saw more empty seats in Lane Stadium last night, which used to be unheard of anytime and especially on a Thursday night.

-I'm happy for the Ga Southern folks. Big win last night at home. They've endured some rough times last few years.

-Not really surprised at all that Appy State went down and with relative ease. Their resume' to be ranked in the top 25 was and is laughable. Their wins have come over Charlotte, Gardner Webb, South Alabama, Arkansas State, and Louisiana Lafayette. The best record among that group is Arkansas State at 4-3/1-2.

-I am a big believer in our defense and Trott. I mean, why shouldn't I be? I will admit watching the Yellow Jackets last night reminded me how difficult Kennesaw State could be if we see them in the playoffs. We just don't get that look at all during the season and it is very difficult to simulate it in practice at the speed and precision they likely will. Having said that, I still think we can handle it. I know HCMH ran the TO at The Citadel and Trott has been around plenty long enough to know how to approach it if we have to. Not worried about any of that (knowledge of how to defend), but it is one thing to know what to do and then another for the guys on the field to be able to execute.

I’ve only watched Kennesaw State play once this year. Honestly, they looked so-so at best, and more like a D2 program. At this time they’re I believe they’re overrated and will go down easily against better competition in the playoffs.

"...The biggest one is not many times you score, but not how many times you get in the endzone" talking about GT going 7-7 for getting TDs in the redzone tonight. Seems like we could take some lessons from them. All of them rushing TDs tonight. Worst rushing defense by the Hokies in decades. The Hokies had a better chance at winning this game than any other game remaining on their schedule. After this performance the rest of their games will probably be projected as losses.

Did you forget they're playing UVA?

No. Having watched UVA live and VT a few times on tv this year...UVA has a very good shot at winning that game. VT's defense is BAD. UVA has a very good defense. They held Miami to 13 points and @Duke to 14 points, both of which have 1 loss other than to UVA. If they can get their O to be a little more consistent, I agree with WP that they could make the ACCCG.

As of right now, Massey gives UVA a 54% chance to beat VT - and that's before VT picks up a few more losses and UVA picks up a few more wins. If Massey is 100% correct, VT rolls into that game 4-6 (L's to BC, @Pitt, Miami) and UVA rolls in at 8-3 (W's vs UNC, Pitt, Liberty and close L vs GT). This will easily be the best shot UVA has had in years to break the streak.

RE: CAA Week 9 Standings, Games & Other Games of Interest
Just read this online...

...first time in ACC history (imagine how many games that is) a team has won a game without completing a single pass. GT attempted one pass which was incomplete when the QB's feet slipped out from under him at release. Another drop back resulted in a sack.

GT's backup QB, R-Fr. Tobias Oliver, started and rushed 40 times for over 210 yards.

Reminiscent of JMU vs then-#1 WM in 2010. JMU - 266 yards rushing from the wildcat. 1 pass, that was an incompletion, and 2 sacks on Dudzik before we switched to wildcat.

UVA can be 10-0 and VT 0-10 and Tech would still find a way to win. I'll believe it when I see it.

Colgate 24
Gtown 0

Halftime.

‘Gate halfway to its 4th shutout in 5 games.
That is incredibly impressive in this day and age.

Yeah, I wouldn’t want to play them. Their defense is good, regardless of the bad SOS.

Yep. Can’t ignore this anymore. Potentially four shutouts in six games and the other two gave up only 3 each. It’s absurd defensive stats.

Middle TN 51-17 over ODU.

ODU now 2-7 on the year. Stick a fork in ‘em. Their big bad bowl aspirations are officially done.

Eastern Washington’s QB’s career is over. Not something you ever want to see happen to anyone.

Man, Kehoe knows how to throw his receivers open. Really wish we had a QB that could do that...

CAA Week 9 Standings, Games & Other Games of Interest
It was an uneventful day for upsets nationwide other than UD beating TU, which I saw coming.
I didn’t see Towson’s defense choking to end the game, letting UD end the game on a 27-8 run in the final 1.5 quarters.
Apparently Towson’s pass D is awful. If only we could be able to exploit that...

I was at the Towson 56-28 win over Albany. Albany had 330+ passing yards including 2 long bombs for scores. Both were very long deep passes, perfectly led/caught in full stride. And I too thought: "If only we could be able to exploit that..."
