I want to see us win a game that is not decided in the last five minutes.

We had four of those already. Count me in for number five this week.

RE: Let's predict Navy score?
Looking at Navy's YTD results, they do find a way to get points whether they win or lose. That rushing offense is going to score. But I think the 'Cats defense will be ready after getting torched in the first half at Annapolis last year. Here's hoping UC can control time of possession and win another game where I don't think our fans can relax until time expires...

UC 38
Navy 28

Then...8-1 for the showdown with USF and bring on just one day of winter weather for November 10th for the boys from Tampa.

Cats 28
Pre-Lt (JG)s 20
The Seamen won in 1940, 1956 and 2017
Bearcats mens basketball is 0-1 against Navy playing in Dec 1974 in probably Gale Catletts best year as coach.
After the loss the Cats won 16 straight games in their last independent season. The next year UC was in the Metro Conference, a good basketball conf but would have been a better football conf (with Florida State and Georgia Tech).

Metro would have been a tremendous basketball conference had it held together:

Ga Tech
UL
UC
Tulane
Memphis
Fla St.
Va Tech
South Carolina
SLU
Southern Miss

It's one of the major arguments for allowing the revenue sports to associate independently and not have MBB and FB tied at the hip.

This is a better football conference. Basketball would be just slightly better than The American.

RE: Let's predict Navy score?
One thing for certain about this game is it's going to be an interesting reflection on Fickell as far as motivating a team. I've never seen him speak with more conviction that when he talks about how they ran the ball down the defense's throat and he was never more embarrassed. Watching him talk about it you can see the fire in his face. This game more than any this year for me will be interesting to watch. I think particularly as well as they've played from sideline to sideline with Wright in the middle it will be a real test to see where they are defensively. If we do not score points against them at home, we've probably got bigger issues. We moved the ball pretty well last year up there, and i think we're better offensively and they're worse defensively so to's are the only thing that should stop us.

Agreed. Woulda been nice. Gives you access to the state of FL, and some other southern states full of talent.

Either way you slice it, it woulda been a fun conference.

I see our defense containing the Navy run game and the offense getting it together.

UC - 24
Navy - 10
