Stock Contest - Week 8 Standings
The picture becomes clearer, but still a lot of craziness to play out and a lot of toss up matchups to occur. What has become fairly apparent is the strength shift to the west this year, to this point. Fau and Middle still have the opportunity to change that before the end of the year, but right now it looks like UAB and UNT are leading the way with La Tech lurking and having a must win game against FAU coming up.

The current stock values:

Team Price/Shr
UNT 9.50
UAB 9.00
La Tech 8.00
Marshall 7.50
Middle 7.00
FIU 7.00
FAU 6.50
USM 6.00
ODU 4.50
UTSA 3.75
Charlotte 3.25
WKU 2.25
Rice 2.00
UTEP 0.75

And the current leader board:

clt $655.00
Side Show Joe $593.00
HogDawg $585.00
FIUFan $467.00
Rileylives $462.00
ClaudeFunston $437.00
mturn017 $392.00
benny t $350.00
Banker $331.50
TechRocks $246.50
12th Monarch $201.00
Talon90 $199.25
outoftown UNT $178.25
Tintin $143.50
HoustonRoadRunner $138.75
Auburn Blazer $130.00
Reggie Favre $126.00
DarrellEW $121.25
DETLTU $119.00
owl at the moon $117.00
inutech $111.50
Goliath $104.00
TruBlu $86.25
MU ATO $82.50
optomistic owl $48.50
Migser31 $39.75
ODU Aggie $(150.00)
ODUsmitty $(325.25)

clt is hanging on, but with a tough road for Charlotte down the stretch and an improving ODU, things could tighten up over the next few weeks.

Ha! Don't count that money just yet. My picks are still due to produce results down the stretch. 05-stirthepot

I know I've been away for awhile. My Dad had quadruple by-pass heart surgery, and I've been out of town and focused on my family.

Sorry to hear this, Joe. Hope he gets much better soon.

You're not right very often, Joe, 03-wink but you are this time. Heart surgeries have come a long way. Here's some positive news for your dad; my father had serious heart surgery almost 19 years ago, and he's still alive and kicking at age 83. He really hasn't had a problem since. He's led a very normal life. I hope the prognosis for your father is equally as positive.

Dad had his first heart attack at 37, and has received multiple stints through the years. My grandfather had multiple heart attacks and strokes during his life. One of my uncles died from a heart attack at 58. And, both of my great uncles died of heart attacks at the age of 42.

Dad is scheduled to go home on Saturday. He is doing very well with his recovery. Thanks for the encouraging comments.
