2018 Pick'em Contest, Week 9
Can anybody reel in Buckminster Fuller? The man (if he really is human) is on an unprecedented roll. Can he handle the pressure? Here's this week's slate.

Georgia Tech @ Virginia Tech (Thurs 7:30)
Miami @ Boston College (Fri 7:00)
Wake Forest @ Louisville
Clemson @ Florida State
Texas Tech @ Iowa State
Purdue @ Michigan State
North Carolina @ Virginia
Duke @ Pitt
Florida vs Georgia (Jacksonville, FL)
Iowa @ Penn State
South Florida @ Houston
NC State @ Syracuse
Kentucky @ Missouri
Texas A&M @ Mississippi State
Washington State @ Stanford

Good luck and good pickin'.

Some interesting factoids about this week's slate.

Florida State is the only double digit (14 pts) underdog on the card. They are also one of only three home teams that aren't favored to win. The others are also ACC teams - Boston College and Pitt.

The biggest betting line movement so far has Boston College moving from a 2.5 pt favorite to a 3.5 pt underdog.

The current spread on 10 of the 15 games is less than 5 points.

That's huge movement. Are there new injury concerns for one or both teams?

I don't know about winning, but I like FSU's chances to cover.

On the other hand, I'd be nervous if I were a Miami fan - those Vegas handicappers aren't as dumb as you seem to think they are.

Did I miss something? I don't see where you get the idea that I think Vegas handicappers are dumb.

Movement in that direction may mean that someone knows or believes A.J. Dillon won't play again this week.

State lost it's best RB, and two offensive linemen. Those picking State might want to do more research.

Those injuries are about even with SU, who lost two starting corners and a third defensive starter in the UNC game. Dont know for how long yet. One has a sprained ankle.

Hated missing last week... bad time for computer failures while on vacation and unable to sign in and get work done.

That was a tough break. You had a legitimate shot at a second place finish this year.

He probably saw the VT@UNC game where VT played worse for 3 1/2 quarters than they did vs. ODU.

RE: 2018 Pick'em Contest, Week 9
Virginia Tech (Thurs 7:30) (pucker game!)
Boston College (Fri 7:00) (mild upset)
Louisville (another mild upset)
Clemson
Iowa State
Michigan State (really feel like this could go either way)
Virginia
Pitt (Panthers playing MUCH better lately)
Georgia (Jacksonville, FL) (I guess SOMEONE has to win)
Penn State (toss up, going w/ home team)
Houston (again)
Syracuse (Wolfpack left it all in Clemson; Orange got wake-up call by UNC)
Missouri (feels weird picking UK to win a road SEC game)
Texas A&M (Aggies will find a way to win - I hope)
Stanford (Pac-12 playoff hopes officially die here)

computer projections were virtually useless - so many 1 or 2 point games predicted!
