Short practice week.
No time to celebrate; we play Toledo Thursday night! This would have been a perfect bye week. At least Toledo played yesterday too, and has no more time to recover and practice than we do.

Our schedule gets appreciably harder from this point forward. Toledo, Ball St, Ohio, and NIU. This is what it is all about, and will measure where we really are.

I like the way we are playing. We have a lot of players who know how to win, and it sure looks to me like the chemistry is solid. Would be nice to get some good weather, as I think the cold can be draining. I know it was on me yesterday. Lol.

Toledo has taken some lumps. Hopefully they will lose chemistry, and we can bring more energy. These games are HUGE.

RE: Short practice week.
Any notable injuries from yesterday or lingering from previous weeks? I really don’t like the short week for college or pros. It should only be scheduled after a bye week. Toledo is not as formidable as thought going into the season, but still will be a dogfight. Our defense is playing better but is still susceptible to giving up a big play. I think that not having a reliable kicker from 40+ is a real problem that goes unnoticed until it costs a game.

Brooks is out for the season
AJ Thomas might be back
Harris didn’t play Saturday.

I think that’s every injury in the two-deep. In each case, the replacement was a starter last season. So, I’d say we’re relatively very healthy.

AJ Thomas is not listed in today's two deep. Not sure what to make of this. It sounded like he was close to being ready for CMU. I hope that he can play a little against Toledo.

I have no doubt, no matter how the 2 man turns out, that coach will have the team ready to compete and do our best to beat Toledo.
