Ridder lost it in that game. Playcalling was completely predictable. Warren looked tired late in the game and the D just ran out of steam. If our O could've just mustered a couple first downs in the 4th qtr. we win the game.

Ridder was not impressive at all, looked like a headcase out there. Bryant may indeed be our QB of the future.

RE: Temple game thread
I can handle getting beat by the better team but we beat ourselves today. So much for the bye week to prepare and work on getting better. Except for the breakdown near the end of the 4th quarter, our DEE was outstanding today and you couldn't ask for more from that group. BDF needs to sit down with Denbrock and Phillips and Guidugli and figure out how to make our passing game at least have a minimal effect in a game. I get Ridder is a frosh so make it easier on him to get rid of the ball and build some confidence.

Our special teams are beyond awful, it really is a shame to have given this game away. It is frustrating watching on TV and not being able to see what is going on, but Ridder had some really bad misses today.

UC's defense played great the whole game until those last two drives. I think they got conservative.

Ridder did not look good at all today. Temple's defense had a lot to do with it.

The passing game is a joke. Did we even attempt a pass over 10-15 yards all game? Can’t do much if you don’t even give your WR’s a chance to make a play. It’s either a QB or play calling issue. My guess is it’s probably a QB one.

Our corners bit on short route fake leading to those TD passes. I don't think Warren or the D looked that tired at all. I think as Ridder has played more D coordinators know how to game plan him. I think the idea is tight coverage early as he struggles to go through progressions. The only plays he completes are quick roll outs to the TE or a screen. He needs a lot of coaching.

Having your kicker suck sure doesn't help. Time for plan B.

Not at all. It’s all in the context of what I’m speaking. This was a game UC wins if they don’t completely melt down on ST and on offense. Those teams the last 3 years just sucked and didn’t lost many winnable games.

Which is why I ask about Moore. Sometimes you need to go to bullpen for a game.

UC used to have good FG kickers. No OT today and a win if they had one today.

Any mid length throw was in coverage over the middle. Not sure why we didn't take a shot down the sideline. The playcalling was easily predicted in the 4th qtr. I think Ridder was waiting for guys to come totally wide open instead of throwing in rhythm. We also went away from the TE (although Ridder definitely missed a wide open one on 3rd down late that would've moved the chains.)

Nailed it IMO. He panics when his first read isn’t open. Even if there isn’t pressure he starts getting happy feet.

We got some fools gold with ridder against incompetent defenses. I like the kid but you can tell he's just not there yet

Still guys, the missed field goals were just one part of breakdowns in many areas of the team today. This loss, in part, is on the coaching staff. You had an extra week to prepare. I would like to think they would agree with this.

UC really needs work on those quick hitter inside screen plays. None of them worked today and they haven't all year.

I think it may be time to give Moore another shot. Let Ridder rest this off, and see what Moore can do now. That was as painful a loss as I can remember (the last 3 years we just flat out sucked across the board).
