RE: FCS Playoff Selection Process Question
What about undefeated Colgate? They've been playing lights out defense, albeit against the PL + William &Mary and UNH, but still, I have them in the top 10. Bank on them getting a seed if they beat Army at the end of the season. I also think they're a dark horse in the playoffs this year regardless.

RE: FCS Playoff Selection Process Question
Anyone know the status of Weber St's Qb Jenks? He had a freakishly nasty ankle injury vs. Montana St. but I read he came back from it (somehow). I can't imagine he is 100%.

The committee is going to seed JMU at number two if there is absolutely any way they could justify doing so. Not only is kennesaw's resume very weak, but we have seen in years past that the committee can be swayed by name recognition and teams with consistent year-over-year results.

Based on this year, and not the past, if UCD wins out they'll be the #2. Throw out their P5 loss to Stanford, they would be 10-0/8-0, 2-0 or 3-0 vs playoff teams (San Diego, EWU, maybe ID State) + a G5 win. Of their last 3, the team that has a best chance of beating them would be EWU on that god awful red carpet, but that chance has gone down some with EWU losing Gage Gebrud for the season (initially was suppose to be only for a few weeks. They probably would have beaten Weber with him).

I think if all win out it will be:
1. NDSU
2. UCD
3. JMU
4. Kennesaw

Now that the first edition of committee ranks are in and JMU is at 2, I really cannot believe JMU doesnt hold that ranking if they win out.
How close is JMU’s SRS score over UCD now though? IF both teams win out, UCD would get a bigger boost from beating EWU than JMU would from beating TU, esp if TU loses 1 or 2 more beforeand (have Maine and @ ELon). IF the SRS is very close now, UCD could leapfrong JMU in the SRS if they win @ EWU (I’m predicting and hoping UCD won’t).

SRS is used, at most, as a tiebreaker and I do not think that the committee considers JMU in a tiebreaker situation at number two. With that said your statement about UC Davis is valid and they have a great schedule and if they win out they deserve all the accolades and respect I just know that looking at the committee for the last few years I feel pretty confident they would keep JMU at number two in their final ranking. Right or wrong, I just think that's what they'll do.

He didnt come back from it. His ankle was turned around backwards and told the coach to tape it up and he could play. I hope it was jokingly otherwise i want know part of that psychopath come playoff time

Agree ... SRS is additional/advisory information that the committe *may* use, but is not bound to (versus other polls which they ignore).

If SRS is close, or UCD edges us slightly, don't think it will matter. If UCD has a much higher SRS (unlikely), I could see that swaying things a bit.

Last year JMU had a significant SRS lead over everyone (2.0 vs 1.61 for NDSU), and that probably helped solidify the 1 seed.
