RE: Battle for the Belt - Troy at South Alabama
The line opened with Troy as a 10.5 point favorite, and has climbed to 12.5. Over/Under is 53.5, so rounding up to account for the half point Vegas is currently predicting a 33-21 Troy victory.

I'm not confident in that. It takes Vegas a few weeks to adjust to big changes. Troy's QB loss hasn't affected them yet.
I have no idea how this game goes down. Sawyer will get better week to week, but Kaleb has the "it" factor, and has to chance to be one of the all-time greats at Troy before he leaves. It's a shame we won't see him back until 2019.

Georgia Tech with Neal Brown and Nate Woody would be formidable. Unless Woody is fired as well then he can come back to Boone.

How has USA improved recently, if at all?

I get what you're saying, I'm not denying that. But, they are likely better Liberty. If the team hasn't improved since the Liberty loss, they will lose to South.
The best Troy team in history, last season, lost to a very, very, bad South Alabama team. Lots of things can happen.

We won a game, so there’s that.......
But seriously, I’m not sure if we’ve really improved or not. Alabama State wasn’t a great metric, but it was probably the most dominating game I’ve watched us play since our first 2 years of playing military colleges.
There is a chance we’ll have 2 defensive starters back this week after losing them early in the season. One of our best receivers will hopefully play for only the 2nd time this season as well. We have the talent, they just have to put it all together. It will click eventually, not saying it will be this week, but it could be.

I'm concerned. I like Sawyer and know he's a capable qb with a good arm and good feet, but I'm not sure how he'll perform with the pressure of being the starter. Liberty scarred me. My heart says we beat the snot out of South. My brain says I'm going to be cringing and shouting a lot. Hoping Liberty was a kick in the pants and we come out excited and fighting.
If Sawyer gets over his starter yips, Willis and Eafford have banner days and BJ runs all over them.

I think it’s because no one really has a good pulse on how the game will go. I know I certainly do not.
A. Troy dominates in win
B. Troy wins a close one
C. USA wins a close one
D. USA dominates in win
I would not be surprised if A, B, C, or D happened. My instinct is to say it’ll be either B or C, but nothing would surprise me.

Better listen to your brain, your heart needs a reality check, newbie.

It’s gameday! The rain is putting a damper on things, but not as much as gameday being on a Tuesday. The rain should subside by game time. Let’s see what Coach Campbell brings to this rivalry.

I thought we are getting a few players back from injury. I thought our starting safety is coming back.

Troy's game plan should likely be similar to what App ran last week. Just run. 8 man box, RUN. 9 man box, RUN...
Then begin running play action. Sawyer needs to shoulder less of a load than he did against Liberty.

ESPN FPI says 82.0% Troy wins this game. Spread remains at 12.5.

I think it's closer to 65% in reality and a 7 point win if I had to ballpark. Game could go a lot of ways though.

I would be shocked if Troy doesn’t run it 40+ times. We haven’t proven we can stop a running game (Alabama State doesn’t count). Our secondary is very talented, so it should be a no brainer what they’ll do.

Sawyer didn't seem to have his bearings right against Liberty. He took a few sacks in crucial situations that a player with his athleticism just shouldn't take. He missed some throws as well, but as a casual observer, his biggest mistakes came when failing to escape the pocket. There was also a failure on the coaching staff to adjust their play calling to fit what he was comfortable with.
I think South Alabama is a dangerous team on offense should they actually find some rhythm. Not sure how good your defense is, or can be.

If we can force Sawyer into making some mistakes and score off them, we should be ok. Our secondary should be ok, we just need to tackle the runners better.

That promo at the beginning of the broadcast was legit.
Best intro into any Sun Belt game I've seen so far.
