Not that it makes a hill of beans to anything or that anything that is mentioned on a message board matters one way or the other, but there also is competition against like opponents that could be considered.

Seriously? You're going to thump your chest about putting 44 on Arkansas? You were correct to put SEC D in quotations... This is a team that has given up 34, 44, 34 (against a terrible Auburn offense), 34, 65 and 37 points in 6 losses. And if you want to get accurate, you scored a TD off a punt return and another off of a pick 6. So, you really only scored 30 against that vaunted "SEC D."
I was talking more about their SEC size and talent. Of which you haven’t gotten close to facing this season
Again, we are talking about Arkansas. The jury is still out on the SEC size and talent.

To be really accurate, we had 34 points at the half. The first drive of the second half we methodically move down field to kick a field goal and then shut it down offensively trying to run the clock. In fact, the La Tech game was the first time our starters had to play in the fourth quarter.

RE: Where is "What North Texas fans are saying"?
UNT vs. UAB comparison - Both teams have played a bunch of average or bad teams. La. Tech, our one common opponent, is the only team either squad has played that has a winning record right now. And as Waah Tech is our only barometer, I suggest that both outings be taken with a grain of salt. As Colony Eagle said, Waah Tech had the sun in their eyes, all game; their moms didn't pack the right juice boxes; or they got bad baloney in the pregame meal. It couldn't possibly be that our guys beat them.

I think the verdict is already in. The only thing SEC about Arkansas is the logo on their jersey and helmet.

That's important because the better team did not win that night. We have since been tested. And we passed the tests.
UAB has not been tested.
They're gonna get tested on Saturday. And they're not gonna pass. Plus, we're the better team.
Prediction on UAB fans' opinions before the game: "Bill Clark is the best coach in Alabama!" Prediction on UAB fans' opinions after the game: "I don't know if Bill Clark is the guy to take us to the next level"
We've been tested, they haven't.
UNT 41 UAB 17
This made me chuckle.
All we did was beat the hell on the road out of the team that beat you at home.
If you're going to use the La Tech game, you have to take it into context. Both La Tech and UNT played like crap the week after our game with each other. We luckily got UTEP, they got you. I think had we played you guys the week after, there's a good chance you would've beaten us. That game between LT and UNT was brutal and took a lot out of each team. (geez I sound like a LT fan here....in which no one has ever beaten them, they always lose)
Point being, you got La Tech at a good time. But that was a few weeks ago.
As for us, we've gone against "an SEC D" and scored 44. We slogged through a hangover game on the road a week after our QB could barely walk and we lost our leading rusher and prevailed. Then last week, we played "the best D in CUSA" and put up 30. Now we're going to play the new "best D in CUSA" this week. Our offense has been tested. I don't think your D has. I'm not trolling here but serious question...who is the best offense you've played this year? Now compare that offense to what you're going to face on Saturday. I know you're going to try to get QB pressure. So did USM. And a less than 100% Fine did this:
https://twitter.com/PFF_College/status/1...6516875267
8-15 for 146 yards, 1 TD and 6 1st Downs with a 109.3 passer rating on 18 drop backs under pressure. He's been pressured his whole career. He's thrown 16 TDs and 1 pick this year.
That's what I based my prediction on.
On another note....I wish I was coming into town for the game...we lived in the area for a couple of years up until this past March. Loved the area...Birmingham is a great city.
Fine had a decent day passing against us last year. You guys ran all over us though. Our defense is without a doubt improved this year. Our coach doesn’t lose home games. Our team has had this game marked on the schedule all offseason.
I’m not guaranteeing a UAB win, but you are far too confident in my opinion. I thought UNT would open as a seven point favorite in Vegas. The fact that they are -1/pick em would seem to indicate Vegas is begging squares to take UNT.
I expect a good game Saturday, and I expect our coaches and players will be ready for you guys. North Texas might win the game, but I’d be shocked if it was in blowout fashion.

RE: Where is "What North Texas fans are saying"?
What remember most about last year is that we had 2 guys that had the size and strength to deal with UNT's O-Line. And they were gassed by the 3rd quarter. The large (6'7") bookend tackles are still there. But our guys that will be across from them have grown up.

A "down" Arkansas was a really good win for North Texas. And did anyone watch any of the Razorback - Ole Miss game last week? Arkansas lost the game but played a much better.

I will agree with you there. Over the years we've beaten Miss. St. and LSU. And while those teams might not have been world beaters then, any time teams like ours get a win over an SEC opponent it's a good day if for no other reason than getting the exposure.

La Tech fans seem to be interjecting more on this game than UNT fans.

Plus the whole CUAB thing.
This game was fun last year. I'm looking forward to it. The weather should be in the goldie locks zone, so my frail and fragile body and mind should be able to venture outside for it.
I think predicting either team will blow the other out is silly given how they've played this year. The reason I've got some confidence about it is we seem to be getting better. It's hard to believe the Coastal Carolina game is from the same season.

My response to comments like this are always this:
If you believe in your heart and mind that UAB has some sort of unfair advantage, I invite you to encourage your administration to follow the Ray Watts model of securing that advantage.
I promise, if you do, and it does, you will not hear a peep out of me.
One more thing, did you enjoy the 2015 and '16 football seasons? Because I didn't. Not even a little bit.
