Great press for the conference. Wouldn't it be awesome to get both WKU and Marshall in the Dance and have them both advance to the Sweet 16 or beyond? Talk about a leap forward.

It would be nice, but you and I both know that the NCAA clown committee would put us in the same sub-region and we play each other in the round of 32.

Marshall and Western play twice in the regular season, as such they cannot be seeded to possibly meet before the Sweet 16.

Beyond that, for the sake of argument, let's say both the Herd and the Tops are significantly better than the rest of the conference and have an epic third game in the conference finals, you couldn't be seeded such that it would be possible to meet prior to the Elite 8.

Hmm. Good info.

This is from the NCAA website:

Quote:Each of the first four teams selected from a conference shall be placed in different regions if they are seeded on the first four lines.

Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the regional final if they played each other three or more times during the regular season and conference tournament.

Teams from the same conference shall not meet prior to the regional semifinals if they played each other twice during the regular season and conference tournament.

Teams from the same conference may play each other as early as the second round if they played no more than once during the regular season and conference tournament.

Any principle can be relaxed if two or more teams from the same conference are among the last four at-large seeded teams participating in the First Four.

It seems that about the only way we could get the screw job you, with good reason, alluded to would be a scenario in which the top two seeds only played once in the regular season and the 1 seed gets upset in the conference finals but still has the resume for an at large and the 2 seed wins the conference tournament. In that case we'd have two teams in that had only played once.

And with the scheduling scheme in place, the top teams are pretty much guaranteed, barring circumstances that would rival the one-point offensive safety in unlikelihood, to play at least twice in the regular season, with a good chance of three or four meetings.

If you're going to be the next Loyola-Chicago, you are going to need to find yourself a wheelchair-bound nun.

Question: will Stansbury spontaneously combust in her presence?

Stansbury could talk her into renouncing Catholicism and being a General Baptist as the team’s spiritual guide.

She’ll just reclassify like Bassey and Banton did.

She’ll bounce Pom-poms as he’s announced.

My great-aunt is a wheelchair-bound nun. No horseshite. Marshall would be the Thundering Sister Marys
