RE: Official Game Thread: #12 Wofford
The Terriers are averaging over 360 yds/game *just in rushing*. Yes, that's their deal, but I fear they'll be able to impose their will in that facet moreso than El Cid was. We hold opponents to 90 rushing. I think if we hold them to under, oh, about 225-250, we've got a good chance. And that assumes we can move the ball decently and score at least 20-25 - which may be tough in wet conditions (and which may also make turnovers a very key factor).
Watch for the Terriers to wear down our defensive front by some point in the second half. Hope I'm wrong....

I’m predicting Bucs win 24-17 but will be contingent on no turnovers and having a decent 3rd down efficiency.

These guys have some grit. Totally outplayed for most of the half yet only down a score. Can't bet against them in the 2nd half. Just something about this team and a knack for keeping it close.

Offense has to figure it out. Can’t keep putting the defense in spots like today and expect to win.

Two critical mistakes - one on special teams with the roughing the kicker, and the fumble on offense. Had those two things not happened, the Bucs were right there. ETSU can beat Wofford, but not today. Win out, playoff can happen. Samford is currently losing to Furman in the 3rd quarter. All is not lost.

Offense simply has to become more consistent and get first downs. Cannot expect to keep beating good teams without an offense.

Definitely not lost at all. Must win both home games to have a playoff chance and even then I think it will take winning all 3.

Disappointing but not necessarily unexpected. The next 2 are winnable. I can't see beating Samford with the juggernaut offense they have.

We have to pass block better. A broken record on that, really. Wofford could send a mere 4-5 rushers and it consistently disrupted any drop back passing, which left us doing way too many little dink passes that ultimately cannot lead to a long drive.

I was down in Spartanburg for the game today.. we could have won that game but just made too many mistakes.. overall it was competitive throughout.. hoping we finish the year strong. Did anyone else notice that Wofford doesn’t have a band?! Strange

Even in Little League the team with most penalties and turnovers rarely wins. OL didn’t look good again today too.

ETSU wins out, they make the playoffs. Not gonna be easy but there’s still a lot to play for.

Yes. If we eliminate those bad mistakes there is not a team we cannot beat in our league.

Big question is, what would it take to get a home playoff game now? Does top seed in the SoCon usually get one?

A willingness to put in a bid for one as an unseeded team.
Saturday stunk, but a lot left on the table.
ETSU's offense looked like Tennessee in 2005, and Kentucky 2012. Predictable and not very good.
If there's production out of them, Wofford doesn't score 30 points because they don't have time.
Get your $#!t together, Randy or give up play calling. Head coaches who call their own plays struggle to succeed long term.

Randy didn't throw 2 interceptions or fumble leading to 13 points for Wofford, nor did he commit 8 penalties for 58 yds.
Wofford used 9 running backs and was frequently rotating defensive players.
Their rushing attack looks as good as I've seen. I'm no coach; but play calling?
