We average 2 offensive touchdowns per game vs. G5 competition so... 14-0 final?

ASU just needs to run digs all game long. So long as the QB can hold the safety over the middle for a second, Hansen has the arm to beat the coverage over top. I have yet to see many deep shots from Arkansas State but they need to be willing to take their shots.

stAte needs to run Marcel Murray so effectively that Georgia State feels compelled to commit more to the box and then stAte needs to throw deep against that weak GSU secondary.

State needs to fire Blake Anderson and several on his staff. That will fix the passing game, the rushing game, scoring in the red zone, our pass defense, the O-line, our secondary and our lousy ass tackling.

Serious question for stAte fans. Do you see this game as a Must Win? With Louisiana shaping up to be a contender for the West and then what some would consider an easier final four games I'm thinking this might be a trap game for stAte.

I would think Ark State wins the game on talent alone, but that could be negated should Ark State have a locker room issue given the way the season has gone(pure speculation). That could be the wildcard of this game.

I still believe Arkansas State wins the West. Beginning conference play against the Defenses of App and Georgia Southern isn't exactly a cup cake. If Arkansas State played Troy this week you could say that Benson finally exacted his revenge.

If Arkansas State doesn't let Hansen set-up deep balls with the screens, Arkansas State may get beat again. Screen passes are fantastic and all until the defense finally jumps one. Seems that the coaching staff either doesn't understand that or doesn't trust Hansen to hit a receiver 55 yards downfield with 8 yards of separation because the defender tried to jump the short route.

Meh, I don't think we care. If we win, woot, we've got the inside track to earn the right to watch App State kick the crap out of us again. If we lose, it highly increases the odds that Anderson doesn't earn a contract extension this year. (Kicks in automatically with win #9) which increases the chance he's forced to make staff changes at the end of the year.
I am one of many not even bothering to use my tickets tonight. I've got better things to do than watch us play football right now.

The story going around is that they don't trust Hansen, which is odd because he's not only capable, but we also have a backup QB kicking up dust on the sideline that we KNOW is capable of it.
However, Blake is not really known for putting the backup in unless he's forced.

Just throw deep Ark State. Freshmen secondary tends to panic and commit unnecessary pass interference ORRRR they flat out misdiagnose the plays and run the other way. #growingpains

Nothing about Georgia State's offense is misleading. App and Southern run offenses that are fairly diverse in the run and pass (App) game. Georgia State runs a fairly standard spread option of the mid-2000's. While GSU is athletic, nothing about their play calling will throw stAte for a loop like Southern and App can do.
Also, the pass interference calls in the App game were necessary.

I was so pissed during the Troy game because our ONLY experienced secondary player was ejected on a BS targeting call. Well jeez..of course the replacement backup gave up easy TDs.
LOL and that was his first game back from long injury hiatus too. Tough break

You lost to two of the best defenses in the Sun Belt. The only thing different that the Sun Belt could've done is give Arkansas State the opportunity to play Troy, just to demoralize the team and fan base even more. I've got a feeling that stAte comes out and puts up a 50 burger and wins by at least 24 points.
Georgia State's defense is no where near as physical as App or Southern and that should serve your offense well the rest of the way. However, I feel like Hansen doesn't have the fire you need in a QB to rally a team. He is a solid QB but his decision making against App leads me to believe he doesn't spend much time watching film. Put in the 2nd string guy, see if he can rally the troops.

Huh? I'm talking about our defense that makes dumb mistakes
But yes. Our offensive playbook looks pretty vanilla. Although
it looks more diversified than last year. Maybe the playbook is expanding slowly? Like 10% to 20%?? LOL

We've scored two touchdowns in the past eight quarters and we are averaging under 20 points per game for the first time in a long time.
That is what you get for playing GS & AppSt back to back.

I think it has far less to do with the competition and much more to do with our coaching. If anyone should be able to understand coaching being an issue it should be Georgia Southern.

No stAte fans have been treating it as a must-win, per se . . . although I'm quite sure if the Red Wolves lose it would be like throwing gasoline on our current fanbase melt-down.
No way after losing 2 conference games in a row can this possibly be a trap game for A-State. There is nothing to look forward to except getting the taste the consecutive SBC losses out of their mouths.
A-State finally busts 30 points vs FBS, then busts 40 points vs FBS. @ -13.5 the line value is good after 2 losses.

Might I suggest you all forego the game and settle this with champion combat? stAte picks their best. GSU picks their best. Meet at the 50 and tickle fight it out. Whoever giggles first loses.
Just a thought.
