Often times the best forecast can be determined by events of the past.

App was held back for 25 years by an AD that didn’t believe in the potential on the mountain.

Oh and I fart in the general direction of Jonesboro.

That explains the bad smell coming from your part of the woods. Always thought it was you mountain men not taking bathes.

It doesn’t if you sucked at the lower level like you guys did.

We actually had a lot of success in the kitty sandbox but you won't hear it from us. That is not who we are. Yes you were tossed a life preserver to FBS but your minds are still in the sandbox.

1. stAte won a College Division National Championship in 1970
2. stAte was undefeated 11-0 in its first year of D1 football - the highest level - in 1975.

Anyone else in this league ever have an undefeated season at the highest division of college football?

I respect what stAte has done in football and think APP still has the toughest portion of their schedule to work through before anyone crowns them Champs. With that being said in 1970 stAte won the AP College Division National Championship while Nebraska won the AP University Division National Championship so I don’t think it’s quite fair to call it the highest level when even then there was a perceived hierarchy of levels of play. Divisional realignment was still 3 years away and the formation of division 1-aa was still 8 years away when you went undefeated in 1970 but I don’t think teams you were playing really changed much in regards to quality of opponents. I’m not trying to take anything away from your accomplishments but instead add perspective and my own personal opinion that your Championship season and undefeated season are on par with current members national titles and undefeated seasons.

Since this is a college football fan board I am now going to toot my own horn and ask all of yous which team was the first team in modern football history (20th century - present) to go 15-0.

A-State didn't win a natty at the highest level of college football in 1970. A-State went undefeated and tied for 21st in the final AP Poll in 1975 in our first year of D1 football. Reading comprehension much?
