It wasn't that cold, although some of these students dress line it's 80 degrees. It's not just students either. Hard to figure why someone would $30 for tickets and drive 1-2 hours only to leave after a half. Our fans like to pat themselves on the back for being a rabid fan base. In my book they've got a long ways to go before reaching that level.

I'd say the fans were def. Quieter then i expected; i was the only one makjng noise on 3rd downs in my section, but ill say i didnt see too many leave besides the hill and maybe a row or two of students on the isolated section next to the band until atleast 5 left in the 3rd, i didn't leave until there were 3 minutes left and we got the last field goal and that was just because it would have been a miracle for louisiana to come back with 3 minutes left 0-1 timeouts and down 3 possessions, which was when the majority of people left.

We sit in the deck on the East. For a sell out there sure were a lot of empty seats in the upper section on the West. A lot of people left during halftime, like you said a ton who were sitting on the bank. We desperately need seats over there. I'm sure people don't like sitting on wet grass in 40 degree temps and a stiff wind.

100%of the time that a parent’s day crowd is a good size crowd but one of the quietest crowds of the year. Always, always true.

We’ve got a legitimate top 15, maybe top 10 defense, they are really locked in

Both teams played physical football. It's the best the Cajuns' secondary has looked all season.

Another very enjoyable trip to Boone. so many fans came up and said hello before and after the game.

Great crowd. It's fun to play in an atmosphere like that, especially in a conference game.

Very pleasant, weather wise..although that wind really picked up after halftime.

Cajuns found out after the game their plane had a malfunction. Had to spend the night Saturday in the Kingsport and Johnson City hotels (it took three different hotels to house everyone.)

But we got home with no issues at about 11;45 this morning.

Congratulations on your ranking. Hope it's not the kiss of death like it's been to SBC teams in the past.

Congratulations on the win, but for the record no one in Lafayette cares what our coach did while playing for a different school that was FCS. We care more about the fact that App has had our number since they joined the league

Just saying

He should go for 2 on their TD just for old time's sake.

Georgia Southern and App fans from the 90's and early 2000's would recall him as the QB for Furman...so no body cares that he is the coach for Louisiana, only that he used to play for Furman.

OK, my point being what the coach did in college (one that is not UL) is totally irrelevant to what he does as a coach, so it will not stir up any UL fans. We have no vested interest in your rivalry with Furman, it means nothing to us, but it was brought up several times. If you beat the snot out of Furman every year, it does not matter to us. I thought it was a strange thing to bring up, that's all. 03-yawn

Again, congratulations on the win.

Not trying to stir up any ill will towards UL, just bringing up great memories we had of beating our rival on a unusual miracle play which happened to include your coach. It is a fond memory for all App fans and not unusual at all to bring it up. Also, the announcers for the game did not feel like it was unusual to bring it up, either. Your own coach even discussed it in an interview leading up to the game. It's great that you don't care about it, but we don't really care if you care about it.

Every radio montage of App football since then has included the radio call for that play. Considering how good Furman was at the time, that play was a huge deal.

I didn't take it that way. What happened to Furman years ago has no impact on us (even if it was our coach, who as a player was involved). We just aren't emotionally invested in that play at all.

Maybe I missed a post, but did anyone else notice the play where App's D line lined up vertically all 3 in front of the center, like a stacked backfield? The LBs were about 3 to 4 yards off the line too, so the UL's O line had no one to block, except the center - he had his hands full.

It confused me, and I am sure it confused UL's O line.

We've done that several times this season.
