Darius Williams decommits from ECU
He was our second highest rated commit for the incoming class. This is just the first domino to fall i'm afraid. It's time for ECU to end this and fire Mo now!

Maybe an academic casualty? (Hence all the I-AA interest?)

FWIW, there's no reason I-AA (FCS) schools would be academically easier than FBS schools. Cal Poly, UC Davis, Marist, Howard, George Town, Fordham, Harvard and the rest of the Ivy League are all hard to get into (just to name a few). Perhaps you are confusing FCS with JUCO?
