I didn’t get the outrage of the day memo. Are they bad?

I don't know.

But I don't want my AD associated with any church. That is an awful look.

Why is it a bad look for people to know our AD attends church?

All it is going to do is exclude people who are not part of said church.

Churches advertising that blatantly is pretty questionable too. Don't they have other uses for their budget?

Athletic Department, genius. Institutions don't attend church.

I have no idea what church, if any, Bowen attends. And I'm okay with that arrangement.

Because maybe some fans don't go to the same church or have the same religious beliefs? It IS a public university.

That said, if Hope Church pays the advertising fee, then why not?

It certainly beats UT fans seeing Rocky Top on OUR Jumbotron.

Nothing against religion, but keep it to yourself. Not everyone is willing to believe "stories" told to them

I don't believe diet pills work, but if they pay the money to advertise why would I care?

I don't go to Hope and I don't feel excluded. All churches advertise whether they pay for it or not.

I might add that we are in the Bible belt.

I don't got to Hope, and I never felt out of place.

Everyday we edge closer and closer to the inevitable reality of one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen.

Hint: The star is Luke Wilson.

That should narrow it down quite a bit.

Sad.

I don’t pay much attention to the Jumbotron during games. More concerned with the drunks around me wanting to fight or spilling their beer on me

Huh. I found the beer-spilling drunks to be amiable fellers. Super apologetic and helpful even.

The OP is threatened by religion but not by the violence going on in the inner city day and night. Maybe if the thugs that were committing all the crime could find some religion, they wouldn't be criminals.
