I get sick of the Alabama or Auburn question. I always answer UAB. Best ones are the ones that won’t accept that answer and Keep asking. I finally usually say I really don’t give a damn about either one or use the meteor line.

Not sure which one catches these morons off guard the most, the swiftness in which I respond, the tone in my voice when I say "UAB", or maybe it's both. The looks on some of their faces in reaction is hilarious. I keep waiting for steam to come out of their ears or have a profuse nosebleed. The Auburn encounters are far more civilized, it's the Updykes that can't accept that there are sports fans here in Alabama that don't care to worship their crimson "god."

What is even more bewildering is that more times than not, I'll be wearing some form of UAB gear or apparel to show who I root for and still get asked that question sometimes. That's some serious myopia.

Best man (or woman) for the job. Vote for Walt. Put party aside for once and vote for the best candidate. Vote for a proud UAB alum, non-partisan leader, three term mayor of Tuskaloser. He's actually got good ideas for the state and real plans for how to pay for them.

Perhaps the question also speaks to our state's racist past that a white person is not asked about AL State or AL A&M. One could ask why a state with such limited educational funding would build two new colleges in Montgomery which already had AL State or why UAH was built in the same metro area as AL A&M? Both original state universities could have benefited from that large additional state funding.

this size of the state only BHM, Huntville , Montgemery and Mobile need to have an University

Agree. All I hear from some people is how wonderful she is and that she cleaned up the mess left behind by Bentley. But they can't offer any concrete evidence supporting either claim. I think they just love that she is a woman with a very southern accent.

If Maddox becomes Governor, I would like to think we would see some major changes to the BOT but that is just wishful thinking.

I was just going by the poorly worded thread title which was phrased like he asked the question. Should have said “he WAS asked...”

I stand by my statement though. He’s a politician trying to get elected. And there is no negative connotation meant by that.

Sure, why not? And Floridians are racist for asking "Florida or Florida State," instead of "Florida A&M or Bethune-Cookman."

Virginians are racist for asking "Virginia or Virginia Tech" instead of "Virginia Union or Virginia State."

You always find a way to twist every topic into fitting some BS agenda.
