"Grizzlies are considered a "wild card" in terms of possibly relocating"
Don't like it when ESPN gets involved in the management of pro sports teams or NCAA conference realignment for that matter. But someone's lawyers are looking at this.
"Windhorst added that some lawyers who have reviewed the Grizzlies' lease with FedEx Forum believe there is a window for the team to relocate in 2021."
ANOTHER OPINION

Windhorst is a broken record on this. He was on Memphis radio a couple of years ago, something had happened, and he said if he were a Memphis fan that 'he would be very worried'. Then Windy got pounded for not knowing anything about our lease situation. And I don't believe for a second that Windy has talked to any lawyer about our lease.
Windy also constantly, without any reason, interprets Pera's not talking to the media as some kind of sign that he is open to relocation pitches.

Sounds like he's a Seattle fan.

Seattle deserves a team. Big city, tons of money, new arena. But probably by expansion. NBA at 30 teams, could easily go up by 2. And just look at attendance at places like Detroit and Atlanta. Not announced, but watch the games. Always half empty. What happens in New Orleans if AD leaves?
"Sonicsgate: Requiem for a Team" is a great documentary on how Seattle lost their team. David Stern and the new owners screwed the city of Seattle.

With Seattle hosting a preseason game tonight, it's only natural. The national media just recycles the same verse without any research. I'm shocked I tell you. The Bleacher Report article kind of 'picked and chose' from a ESPN article to make their article smaller. The one thing people continually seem to conveniently forget is the locals, which currently owned 47% before his buyout of his two out of town partners, have the right of first refusal to buy out Pera if he decides to sell or move the team at the money level that Pera has actually put in the team. Also, with Pera having to come up with much money to buy out Strauss and Kaplan recently, we have no idea if the local owners bought more shares. It's just a shame that we have to be constantly disrespected by a national media that refuses to properly research the Grizzlies situation.

According to Hasseltine yesterday, the 2021 timeline was wrong. I believe he said it would be 2023 at the earliest.
