RE: Tiebreaker Rules for title game?
If GS, App, and Troy all go 7-1 and beat each other.. It goes to the evil ranking systems.
First Tiebreak: (Keep in mind head to head is always first tiebreak, and then record against Division and non division opponents, but if all three teams go 7-1, none of those would break the tie)
1. College Football Playoff rankings. However there is a catch. Because it takes the Playoff committee a couple days to release the final standings after week 13, and the league needs to be able to know the champ earlier. The Week 12 College Football standings are the last counted. Which sends us to tiebreak 1a
1a. The catch is the team ranked in the CFP Poll, MUST WIN their last game of the regular season in order to advance. If App is ranked 22nd, but loses the last game to Troy, the Conference will no longer consider the CFP Standings, and move straight to Tiebreak 2.
1b. If TWO Teams are ranked in the Week 12 CFP Poll. The Higher ranked team, provided they WIN THE LAST GAME OF THE REGULAR SEASON will be declared Division Champ. If Only one team wins, that team is declared champ. If both lose, say three hail Mary's and proceed to tiebreak 2.
2. If No teams are ranked in the WEEK 12 CFP Poll, OR if the only team ranked that week LOSES In week 13. Than the team with the best average ranking in these 4 computer polls: Anderson and Hester, Billingsley, Colley, and Wolfe will be declared Division Champ. Keep in mind the Computer Rankings WILL INCLUDE the week 13 results. If two teams are tied on average computer rankings, than the head to head winner of that matchup will be champ. If all three teams are tied with average rankings proceed to tiebreak 3 after saying 4 Hail Mary's
3. If after all the rankings are accounted, they still can't break the tie. Than the champ will be the team with the best NONCONFERENCE win percentage AGAINST FBS TEAMS ONLY! (Where this gets nasty is, since Southern Miss bailed on App, App cannot win this tiebreak if Troy beats Liberty or Southern beats NMSU.) So it must be broken here. Otherwise, it would go to a coinflip.
Understand? Good, explain it to me!
