MyBB AAC predictions
1. Houston - it pains me to pick UH first but cheating pays off. I think UH has a VERY good team with their returners, the UMass transfers and Hinton. Sampson is getting it done.

2. Cincinnati - Cronin always has his guys ready and I think it will be VERY tough to beat Cincy in their new arena. Crowds will be extra hyped there this season I’m sure. Glad we don’t have to deal with Gary Clark, but it is still Cincy. Rock fight every night.

3. Memphis - I have no idea if Penny can coach but he can definitely recruit. They have too much talent to not be competitive in every game. They will run and their games will be fun to watch.

4. SMU - Assuming Jarrey is back to 100% by January we will be a contender. Transfer Isaiah Mike and freshman Feron Hunt will be two of the best newcomers in the conference. Chargois has lost weight and in the best shape of his life. Should have a breakout year. Grad transfer Nat Dixon is supposedly much better than expected. Jank has to win with this group now or it hot seat time.

5. UCF - I like BJ Taylor as much as any guard in the AAC, and I like McSpadden a lot too. We know they will defend. I’m not as high on UCF as some but if Tacko has improved they will be a problem.

6. UConn - I think Hurley is a helluva coach. If Gilbert can get healthy, he and Adams are as tough a backcourt as any in the AAC. I think UConn will slowly improve as the season goes and could be very tough in Feb and March.

7. Wichita St - Obviously lost a lot. McDuffie is still around and will be all conference. Torres is a baller and will be a very good player for WSU. We all know Marshall will get the most out of his guys. Biggest question is where WSU’s second five will finish?

8. Temple - as always, the biggest mystery to me in the conference. New coach so it will be interesting to see how that changes things. I’ve always liked Q Rose. Wouldn’t be surprised if they finish as high as fourth or as low as tenth.

9. Tulane - I’m putting Tulane ahead of Tulsa simply because of Dunleavy. The guy can coach and I think his team continues to improve. Probably still one more year away from making noise though.

10. Tulsa - so many transfers I just don’t know. I might have them too low but I have no faith in Haith.

11a. & 11b. ECU & USF - I honestly don’t know.

Actually this is Dunphy's farewell tour but Aaron McKie is recruiting all the future classes (and some say he recruited the last couple for the most part).

RE: AAC predictions
Seems reasonable, but truthfully I could see 3-7 in any order. Quite a few unknowns with that group of teams. Many prognosticators have UCF pretty high. I see the potential. They might put it all together this year, but until they prove that they can stay healthy and not fizzle out I can’t join the bandwagon.

HuskyU Predictometer says that UCF finishes 4th.

Get over yourself. It was little joke aimed at the UH poster who has “SMU basketball: proof that cheating pays” in their signature. And you’re kidding yourself if you think SMU is the dirtiest program in this conference. SMU probably runs the cleanest program in this conference which explains why we have lost every recruiting battle under Jank in the past year, save Feron Hunt. Hell if we step out of line the NCAA comes down on us like no other school in NCAA history.

If we are talking about who's done what since the formation of this conference it would not be stepping out of line to say SMU's been the dirtiest. Maybe Jank runs a clean program but it certainly wasn't that way under Brown.

Factor in LB’s tenure and still not the dirtiest in the AAC.

Why are you spending so much money for an empty arena?

Cozy thousand seater would have sufficed

Totally agree on 3-7, and really you could almost lump Cincy and Houston in there as well. I personally think they are a little above those teams, but not by much at all. Those two teams lost a lot from last year. Its easy to say Cumberland will be the man this year, but sometimes its a huge adjustment going from the 4th option to the 1st. Teams will now be game planning to stop him first.

Tulsa will disappoint a lot of people when they start running roughshod over a lot of this conference.

SMU is the dirtiest program in this conference, so come off it. 05-nono

Why are you spending so much money for an empty arena?

Cozy thousand seater would have sufficed

Got me there Pony. Renting space at the local Y would have been much more cost effective.

I forgot. Like Michael Buble, WSU fans start emerging from their holes when the weather turns cool.
