I'm done predicting scores because this season has been so crazy. We are better than our record and they are not as good as we thought.

Its at home so hopefully we find a way to win.

One statistic I want to throw out there. Marshall has never beaten VT in 5 tries.

I'm not going to predict anything this week because I've been wrong every week lol. I just want to go watch my Monarchs on a crisp fall afternoon and not leave the stadium feeling crushed.

(I lowered my expectations for the caps last year and they won the cup. Maybe it'll work for ODU football this game?)

Missing this game for out of town trip...maybe that means we will win? I have no expectations. Just tired of being disappointed.

We've played well at home 3 out 4 halves this season. Maybe we show up inspired to defend home turf. Its always great to beat Marshall.

A win would be nice just to get us off of the ESPN Bottom 10 waiting list.

I just know that someone in the Blue Lot has to have a DJ at their tailgate this week. The FAU tailgate scene was something I have never seen before, lol. DJs at almost every tailgate, and one even had a dunk tank! It's a shame that they have better tailgate attendance than game attendance though...

PS - I don't really want to see a DJ at a tailgate, I like our tailgates just fine. #BeatTheHerd

Marshall passes better than it runs from multiple sets, but it CAN run as shown vs Empty Sue

Marshall averages 3.6 ypc rushing.
Their best rusher 5'11" Tyler king, who averages 5.2 ypc.
The passing of Isaiah Green is adequate. He is a 55.1% passer.
6'3" Senior Tyre Brady is a dangerous receiver. If we don't adjust to him he will light us up.

The Herd run a 4-3 base defense.
The Marshall rushing defense is very stout.
Their passing defense can be exploited.

This game will come down to how well the Herd can adjust to our spread with the 4-3, and if we can stop their passing game.
On the surface this reminds me of the VT game. We SHOULD be able to exploit their LBs - and if they play a man press, their secondary as well.

Bottom line, we could do so much more in the air if we could just run a little bit.
I am not confident that we can stop their rush or pass. However, I see this as similar to the VT game.

Marshalls passing game and pass defense are terrible. Unfortunately, if we cant stop their run and cant run ourselves, it wont matter.

I honestly have no clue how this game will go. If we play as well as I think we can, we should win. But, I could also see us shitting the bed. This season is simply unexplainable.

I don't expect us to win any games other than VMI. But I do think if the Monarchs play as well as they are capable, and we get a few breaks, a victory is certainly a real possibility. If we manage to pull this one out, perhaps the guys get a confidence boost and think they can at least defend home field.
