--> She's ducking a scandal (lucky guy, if it was the metoo variety);
--> She's running in 2020.

Yea, this is strange in its timing.

Not surprising otherwise, being in the grinder of the UN and not just playing footsie with them has got to be exhausting. She’s also got a family and she’s in DC, NYC or overseas almost non-stop.

But, one would think it could wait 29 more days. We’ll see.

Regardless, she was/is a rockstar IMO, this isn’t the last we’ve heard of or from her.

Could be a genius move to put Graham in there. Would be easily confirmed by the senate.

I would guess the resignation is timed now so Trump can make a whiz bang appointment before the elections.

Maybe he offers it to Hillary who would have to turn it down. That would be a show.

Apparently she informed Trump six months ago she would leave by year-end.

If she was running in 2020, I don't think Trump would be holding a presser with her.

Makes me think that when he says "Big Announcement" it means he's shuffling the deck and she's getting a new job.

Haley says NO 2020 POTUS run.

I don't see it as much of a loss.

It isn't a role of massive importance.

She's prepping for bigger things, and that is OK. I couldn't tell you if she is running for dog catcher or angling for a VP slot but this will not be last we hear of Ambassador Haley and that's good...........

The VP slot would make a great deal of sense as a rebuff to the Me Too stuff. If they are thinking that far out then spending time with her family now for a year would be essential before the grind of primaries.

The UN got her feet good and wet with Foreign Policy and she already knows how to run a state. In her case being VP would get her up to speed with the Senate which means knee deep in Beltway politics. By the time Trump ends a second term she would be a prime and experienced candidate for President.
