RE: Let's Move On
I don't like losing, but I think it was important that this team lose. I thought they came out very flat against Richmond, we really didn't play well early on but were gifted some points that sparked us. Two weeks in a row where they seemed to think they could show up and win. I think that trend was likely to continue until someone beat us. I'd rather lose now and march back up the rankings than lose late to Towson. I think this could've also been the product of playing four terrible teams in a row. Part of its scheduling, but who could've guessed WM and UR were going to be this bad. Our guys hadn't seen a good football team in over a month and it showed. I'm hoping this is similar to the UNH game from 2016, which if we are being honest, we deserved to lose and were lucky to get away with the W. CMH is a master motivator, I think the team comes ready to play the rest of season, hopefully a blessing in disguise.

This loss sucks because we're better than that, but I prefer us a hungry underdog vs an overconfident sleepwalker.
Hopefully at the end of the season we're thanking Elon for waking us the f#$% up.
I’d mostly agree, except winning the title is likely necessary to get a top playoff seed.
Playoff seeds matter, it’s a lot better to play at home. Would suck to end up slotted to go back to the dome again this year.
Any team, anywhere. That's the point we need to gt back to, like late 2016. Yeah, a high seed and playing at home would be great, and the noise advantage in that barn is bush league, but this team is capable of any team, anywhere.
If Elon were to claim the CAA crown due to us both having one loss, I could care less. I'd take a national championship over a dozen CAA titles, much the way I would now take a Top 10 FBS finish over a dozen FCS championships.

Success is a lousy teacher
Time to stop playing it SO safe...and coaches need to let fly with boot on throat moves

Let's Move On
Remember that NDSU routinely drops one conference game a season (only undefeated once in 2013). They then learn from the loss and still go and win another championship.

Something good comes out of everything and maybe this loss will help us win the National Championship! We should not complain, it has been a great ride and I would not trade any of our coaches or players for anyone on the other teams. Question - since Elon cancelled their game with William and Mary and those two teams only play 7 conference games while the rest of the CAA play 8 and it comes down to a tie, will Elon lose the CAA championship because of only playing 7?
Yes, the caa announced that conference standings will be based on winning percentage in the caa. A 7-1 team would win it over a 6-1 Elon team. Their one caa loss would hurt them more in terms of the AQ.

That would be worthy of complete outrage from their program and their fanbase, but the rule is in place and cannot be changed mid season to suit someone’s wishes.
If I am the Elon AD, I am looking for someway, somehow getting the W&M game rescheduled.
Maybe find a way to shuffle dates and bye weeks with teams that are eliminated from the CAA race a little later in the season?
With the selection show on Sunday Nov 18th, there is no time to play the game after the Nov 17th final scheduled game.
Oh well. That’s football and that’s life. Just like we had to deal with crap calls, they’d have to deal with the hand they’re dealt there.
They’re in the driver’s seat. If they drop a game, it is what it is.

RE: Let's Move On
There's also no way that Elon and Maine end up with identical league records and tie, since they play each other head to head to end the season.
Elon does have a tough remaining schedule. Their final 3 are against currently ranked teams and 4 of 5 if you include receiving votes teams (UD next week).
