I think App is still missing the “big win” to get enough votes. I do, however, believe they are among the best 25 teams in the Country.

I will never forgive Anderson for allowing the blue boys to beat us or the hillbillies to be favored and probably cover in our own stadium. Yep I am one of the fanatics he put down in his comments the day after the game. You know the ones wanting him gone!

Well Arkansas State will be the 2nd best team we’ve played but our last 3 scores were:
45-9
72-7
52-7

The AAC is 7-7 against the rest of the G5. Yet because the AAC beats a bunch of bad P5s basically any undefeated team in their conference gets ranked. Cinci getting ranked over App is dumb.

No one said you couldn't beat us like that. I just said that it will be hard for any person in Jonesboro to rationalize losing to a conference opponent by that much. There would be hell to pay.

Different subject, there are not many G5 beat writers that get a vote. I see Nevada, Boise State.

Central Michigan and Toledo are secondary teams for 2 writers.

Not a single Sun Belt beat writer that gets a vote.

Not neccessarily. Troy was #29 in the AP Poll in 2016 when we played App State. After we beat them, we jumped to #25.

So it's certainly possible that if App State beats Ark State, they could be ranked. Even more so if App somehow vaporizes StAte..

Troy was ranked at #25 in the AP poll in 2016 - receiving 63 votes. In most weeks 63 votes won’t get you ranked however. If AppSt wins big (56-7...or so) they might get pretty close but there is still too much competition. Might take a few more weeks...
