Knocking on wood, but if UCF breaks top 10, it's very well possible their Cincy, Navy, USF, Temple, Houston (in CCG) can all be ABC games. If they keep winning it will have the eyeballs that will fuel critical mass for pressure into putting them a 4 seed.

I think IF Cincinnati beats USF (big if IMO), the UCF-UC game could be the Primetime ABC game and potentially even the Gameday location. That is the SEC out of conference week and there are no other ranked matchups....perfect storm.

Kind of loving the fact that memphis/ucf was a pairing rumored during big12 expansion, but neither was a big enough brand to be worthy of adding...

Interesting that baylor vs #9 Texas @330 is bumped to ESPN, so this game could be on ABC. Both are Top 10 vs 2-loss opponents.

That's a very good point and observation. Hopefully the stands are packed and the ratings are high. I'll be there, but have to leave at half to go to a wedding. :(

Yeah, I actually think this has a good shot of happening if UC doesn't crap the bed before then. Any other game would be a major reach. UCF has built up enough clout to where ESPN can justify going there now and hyping the game.

That said, I'm definitely skeptical we will remain unbeaten until then. If we just lose one, it's possible we are still in the Top 25 though and it could still happen.

If called on it they'd probably just say they're punishing Baylor.

Although it is counter intuitive to my fandom, I would gladly take a loss to UCF if it meant they made the CFP.

He wouldn't even show. He'd declare that bringing GD to UCF is beneath him and he'd go hang out in Columbus with his arms folded and refusing to turn on ESPN.

He's the biggest loser on TV.

When you look at that week (http://www.espn.com/college-football/sch.../week/12), there isn't much competition matchup wise. It's patsy week for the SEC. All the other current top-10s are playing easy conference games (Penn State @ Rutgers, Iowa State @ Texas, etc)

USF @ Cincy is the week before. If USF wins, it takes a little luster off this game.

I remember last year, there was a game @UCF we thought gameday might come to, because it was a good matchup and bad matchups around the FBS. They chose to go to an FCS (North Dakota State I think) instead. They could pull that again.

While my blood bleeds orange, I also love the hometown team too. I have season tickets and always wear blue to the Tigers game, unless of course they're playing, ya know. It'll be tough wearing orange on December 15th, but looking forward to the bball matchup.

He would probably just go to primetime game that ABC is showing, since that is his gig as a color commentator with Chris Fowler(whom I hate a lot more, for other reasons that don't need to be mentioned). But Kirk lives in Nashville now. He had to move from Columbus after he said they should fire Tressell during the Terelle Pryor tattoo scandal. A lot of death threats and other crazy behavior by that jacked up fan base.

Say what you will about some of the fan bases of SEC schools, but that entire Ohio State fan base is pure TRASH. Don't forget people, white trash isn't exclusive to the southern United States. Neither is racism.

ESPN is not a fan of us and our shenanigans. I'd bet 2 to 1 its more likely to be FCS like Harvard vs Yale that week or Miami/VT.

Quote:Now what happens to those late-season TV ratings if, for instance, there is no undefeated AAC team to attract the casual college football fan? It’s an answer that could potentially be worth millions of dollars to the league and, quite frankly, the University of Memphis athletic department.
commercial appeal

Time for Memphis to take one for the team.

Herby is not well liked in Columbus FYI. Not that he doesn’t mind going
There to visit. But if I remember correctly he was harassed by some OSU nut jobs when he made some negative commments (don’t know exact details) but he doesn’t live in Columbus anymore for the reason.

Just took a look at that weeks schedule. No doubt if UCF and Cincinnati are undefeated gameday will be there. Would be like 13-16 vs 5-8. There is are no other decent games that week. Big ifs for cincy being undefeated though.
