That's the ticket...Hope all your fans, coaches and players believe the same thing.
Big talk from folks who look at USM's loss to a pathetic UL-M team as proof we are not a "contendah"...yet have all kinds of excuses for barely beating arguably the worst team in 'murica!

If you watched the UNT-LT game you would have seen it was the most physical game in C-USA all year. Both teams got banged up and both were extremely emotional afterwards. LT is better than UAB, but I picked UAB to win this week because I realized how off Tech would be this week. Thankfully, UNT pulled it out against UTEP even being hungover. Plus we sat a lot of our marginal guys this game so they could rest up for the Southern Miss game. UNT will beat Southern Miss by 10+ & LA Tech will beat UTSA by 10-14
Coming from you Austin, I feel pretty good about beating UNT this week...

FAU was getting some press and pre-season hype after running the table in CUSA last year. I'm not suggesting we create that team by laying down. I just wish someone would go on a OOC tear and then run the league table to get us in the conversation.
I agree, but I think C-USA needs a program in each division to emerge as the perennial divisional favorites. A different team every season sounds good, but it isn't likely. Teams that can run through their OOC and conference schedules are teams with real depth. None of our programs currently appear to have that.
North Texas was rolling LA Tech in the first quarter last week, until we lost our best corner. As soon as the Dawgs realized we didn't have sufficient depth behind him, they got busy exploiting that weakness, and the dog fight was on. Then we lost our starting RB, and it became impossible to convert short yard situations, and we had to settle for a very long field goal attempt. Lack of depth took it's toll. With a really good recruiting class on the way, it appears the issue will improve, but it will probably take another year or two.

Like Skip Holtz said postgame, UAB has some grown men at DL and LB and LT simply couldn't block them all game. Our OL and RBs also shut down LT's DE that was leading the league in sacks.

Well, they’re all around 25-28 aren’t they? Got to set out while the program was killed and lose no eligibility?

I have made a whole bunch of predictions before the start of the season, but the only one that looks like bearing out is that the West is going to be a free-for-all involving 4-5 teams.

If I recall correctly, we had five guys from the '14 team who were back last year. The two best of those were done last season. That said, you are partially right. Coach Clark did not want to start last season with a team full of 18-19 year olds, so finding quality JUCOs was an emphasis. We had 16 returning starters and 37 seniors this season. Only lost one on the OL and they are all over 300 lbs.
Our defense is near the top in a number of defensive categories. This team is for real. If we can avoid injuries UAB can go a long way with this group.

I, for one, am so happy for UAB’s football program. You guys are doing so well after the nonsense of the past three years. Still don’t want to play you ion Birmingham, though.

It took you guys long enough this year to gel. With so many highly rated recruits returning, I was a little surprised at your start. But, at least you guys helped me avoid a terrible betting weekend against Tech (I took the 9 1/2 points).
With us having to play you guys at your house this year, I would have to give you the edge in the West right now.

37 seniors? Wow! Y’all better be good this year because next year will be brutal.

Meechigan State had 19 returning starters and look what it's done for them!
