Let's settle this once and for all. And in the future, all comments regarding this topic can just be posted here on this thread instead of polluting other threads about other topics. Agreed?
I would stipulate that I am on an island on this issue. What is the poll supposed to prove? If 99% of everyone says the Detroit Tigers will win the World Series this year, does that mean that they get inserted into the playoffs because it must be true? Silly.

Couldn’t you respect their wishes as fellow Bronco fans?

You're right. I should have posted a different poll: "Do you lose respect for Brovol when he constantly inserts the NCHC vs WCHA argument into posts on completely different topics?"
I think that poll would have a unanimous outcome.
Let me ask you something else. A couple years ago, did it bother you when Desert Bronco used to bring up endless arguments within non related topics and steer the conversation in another direction for page after page? Despite many request from others to stop, he found it impossible to let some things go. I don't think those things added anything positive to the board. It was not a positive reflection on him, that's for sure. No reason for him to care, of course. Just saying that sometimes one's better option is to let some things go.
You have a tons of great insight on many topics. I enjoy seeing you on the board and MOST of the time, look forward to what you have to say. These hijackings are not a good reflection of who you really are, IMO.

It proves that you've written 100,000 words on this topic and still haven't convinced 90% of us that we're in the wrong conference. How about you chalk up the L and devote your future posts to a new topic? We're all clear where you stand on this one.

I would always take the stronger conference provided we are willing to make the necessary program investment to be competitive which I believe the hockey program is.
This is pure hypothetical fantasy but if an offer came from the Big Ten in all sports I would have to hold my nose because I hate the Big Ten but say take it. We would take our lumps, badly at times, but it would be necessary if the program was to ascend to a new level. And it could be a failure but at least they gave it the best shot.
FWIW (very little) I think this will be a very good team in 2018-19. Last year was torpedoed by injury and oddly poor goaltending and both of those tend to vary a lot year to year. Yes, there were still penalty issues but those can be overcome. I have had my issues with Murray's coaching but I'm happy to say he appears to have abandoned some of the old school NHL mentality that got us in trouble. I'm honestly surprised by it as I thought at his age he wouldn't be able to adjust that well.
I like Murray overall. I'll never forget talking to him in the locker room hallway and he told me that at the time Michigan would only offer a 2-for-1 deal at Yost and until they gave us 1 for 1 he told them to "shove it". It's the right mentality for all of our programs. It's why I liked Fleck's philosophy from day 1 and I will not apologize for that.

Agree 100%
“The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” - Winston Churchill
It might be hard, but you have to take your shot when you get the opportunity. Why not play with the best teams in the country, and try to consistently BE one of the best teams in the country? The WCHA would have been the cowards choice, and I'm proud of our administration for taking the risk of potential failure when the potential reward is so great. Even if we fail, and never win a national championship, I'll still believe it was the right decision to at least try!

If you wanna aspire to win national championships, no conference prepares you better for that than the NCHC. The coaches and players this year have stated the goal is to win a national championship, so there's your answer.
So, I was asked to stop discussing this topic because "everyone is sick of it", and "nobody wants to discuss it or hear arguments related to it ever again". Ipromise not to bring it up again, and keep my big mouth shut about it, accepting ten lashings, and did ten "Hail Mary's" and twenty "Our Fathers" (not to mention that I cant sleep at night knowing how much I upset everyone by discussing the merits of the two leagues), and yet it seems everyone is continuing to discuss it except me. And, although I have several paragraphs worth of response for each of these posts, with comprehensive analysis and statistics (some of which would be in iambic pentameter), I will remain silent of this issue, without reply, and continue with my prayers. But be advised, I am also praying for all of your souls, because I suspect that when Saint Paul sees how much anxiety you all are giving me by calling me out on this issue without being able to defend my position, you all are in for a long damnation in the fire-pits of He11.
