The statement to the FBI offers a glimpse into how Dr. Ford’s allies were working behind the scenes to lobby old classmates to bolster their versions of the alleged incident, as were Judge Kavanaugh’s.

This would have shown up among the FBI Form 302s that senators would have seen when they reviewed the sole copy of the FBI’s 7th investigation into Kavanaugh. They all know about it, and Chuck Grassley, the Judiciary chairman is another senator who is so outraged that he will not let this drop. If the 302 reports merit it, a criminal referral may be made to the Justice Department for suborning perjury or some other charge. If and when a grand jury is convened, a thread can be pulled, possibly unraveling the myriad of ties between Monica McLean and her former colleagues at the FBI and DOJ, and their communications. Senator Grassley is already demanding text messages and emails. A grand jury subpoena may be much harder to ignore.

Ford actually was confused with Grassley about that offer at the hearing. She did say she did not know that they offered that. The lawyers did not informed her of the offers. Grassley and the Senate Judicial GOP would not go after Ford, but go after those lawyers who did not did their jobs to fill her in on every thing. They do believed that something horrible happened to her back then. Even BK thought that she was a victim of an assault as well. We need to stop blaming victims of sexual assaults. Just like all other victims, her and her family are getting death threats.

For such a supposedly bright woman, she sure is easily confused.

Unless you're talking about us here on this forum when you use the term "we", those two quotes don't go together. By your own words neither the GOP nor Kavanaugh "went after" her.

And actually, even if you were talking about us here on this forum, I can't say I've seen anyone here BLAMING the victim. What I have seen are posters calling for the presumption of innocence, especially in the face of a total lack of evidence of guilt.

As prosecutor Mitchell said, Ford's story does not even rise to the level of he-said, she-said because the witnesses whose names she provided could not corroborate her story.

In hindsight, Ford's accusations would have carried more weight if she'd simply said it was just the two of them.
