Cool article about ZC, looks like he is having a fun season with the Rough Riders as they vie for a spot in the CFL Playoffs.

I was on a cruise ship in the Med and watched take off for a 75 yard TD run vs USF that changed the games MO. A true BEARCAT!

According to Wikipedia...

On January 3, 2018, Collaros was traded to the Saskatchewan Roughriders for a 2nd round pick in the 2018 CFL Draft. On January 19, 2018 Collaros agreed to a restructured contract with the Riders. Prior to the restructured deal Collaros was set to make $500,000 in 2018, plus a $200,000 roster bonus due February 1, 2018.

Good for him. It's paltry in today's sports world, but great money compared to the old days. A guy who has put his body thru what ZC has deserves it.

How often do NFL teams dip into the CFL for talent? It seems that aspiring NFL players would rather sit out than play in the CFL for some reason.

Last year I watched several CFL games on TV but have not seen any listed on TV Schedule this year.

Zach's salary is by no means the norm for the CFL. The QB's get paid pretty well, but if you aren't a star you get paid peanuts. I think the average salary is around $80K (a colleague of mine is from Canada and his brother played in the CFL).

Collaros has done very well for himself up there. He even has some endorsement deals IIRC.

$80,000 is still better than nearly every person can do straight out of college...hell, it's better than the average salary of a 35 year old in America at the moment.

If you've got the opportunity to play a game for a more than decent living, do it.
