But... there's always a catch. The red oreo, red velvet, and chocolate chip ice cream will ONLY be at UC bicentennial events and on campus during homecoming this weekend, but not at their stores. It does say that they will sell it at stores if it proves popular. I'm just trying to post this everywhere I can, hoping it helps.

Couple of thoughts on this. Truly fantastic they are finally creating a UC themed flavor! I have been providing this feedback every time I eat at Graeter's for years. One of their owners attended osu, so might be a reason the Buckeye Blitz was created and sold in stores.

I think UC and its supporters have a great opportunity here. UC needs to market this limited release. We need more than a News Record article. UC supporters need to gobble up this fare and provide positive feedback to Graeter's Corporate https://www.graeters.com/contact-us / 800-721-3323.

On a side note - it's been mentioned above. Local breweries and other vendors have been trying to get UC on board with UC themed products. Unfortunately, to no avail. Rookwood Pottery is just another example. I saw the prototypes for a couple UC themed tiles. One of them is of Jimmy Nippert/Nippert Stadium. Unbelievably awesome! I told them they would make unreal money on these items. They agreed, however UC would not sign off.

Please address your concerns to President Pinto, Martin Ludwig and Mike Bohn. Mr Ludwig deals with trademarks and licensing.

If I am not mistaken, this ice cream will only be served during the game, correct? Graeter's will only consider putting it in stores if they get positive feedback at the game?

I think it'll be available all day, so at the tailgate on the Grid as well as probably during the game. They mentioned only 500 scoops. All those scoops need to disappear plus, like you said, strong positive feedback for the flavor after the game.

Wholeheartedly agree on all points. This is quite the opportunity, we'll see how the fanbase responds.

Not to get in the beer discussion again, but it was a bit disheartening seeing today that Xavier is getting their own brew (might be old news but I just saw it) I'm drafting emails for both Graeters and the UC admins you mentioned. I'm tired of seeing UC not take advantage of these opportunities and I'm going to say something about it this time. I hope others do as well.

It's interesting re: the beer because UC has an agreement with Coors that involves co-branding. There was a Coors LIght sign on I-71 with the UC logo. Also, Martinos has a season long special where you get an aluminum Coors Light cup with a UC logo (pretty cool actually) where you pay $5 for the initial round and then $4 for each refill. So there must not be a moral issue with regard to the UC logo being associated alongside beer.

Perhaps that deal includes not marketing with other beer brands. That would make sense, but it'd be nice to know.

Well - DUH! The "Club" is exactly what Clifton was referring to. They are the ones who count.

Might be appropriate, since there's so many elderly up there, they don't need teeth to eat it.

500 scoops for over 35,000 people on campus. Somehow I don't think demand will be an issue tomorrow.

Not in the Club/Suites, our deserts were just the usual cookies, cakes, Baked Alaska.
