Cool thanks for the info!

RE: Question - Streaming TV channels
I installed the Roku Express on my tv this evening. I started the free trial of YouTube TV. It works great.

RE: Question - Streaming TV channels
Thanks to everyone for their feedback.

I installed YouTubeTV on my Roku, my phone, and my laptop. (Cancelled Sling.) My early impressions is positive. Picture quality is improved, and a lot more sports channels. I will follow up after a weekend or three of football on TV.

I've already checked the Vizio and Youtube TV and Hulu are not supported on it.

Question - will a Roku or other device allow me to get Youtube TV on these older tv's? Is anyone else using one of those devices?

Will the Roku Express get the job done? According to their website it should.

Thanks

Roku, AppleTV or Chromecast will work with your older Sony as long as it has an available HDMI input. If not, there are HDMI switchers available that will allow multiple HDMI sources to use a single HDMI input on your TV. However, if the Sony is a very old HDTV it may not have any HDIM inputs.

Both tvs have HDMI input. Thanks!
Thanks guys. I’ve asked them before but this is the best information I’ve been given. Looks like I’ll be trying YouTube TV. Thanks again

RE: Question - Streaming TV channels
Watching the game against Tulane using YouTube TV (ESPNU)

One of my big complaints with Sling was that the stream was obviously delayed - often a couple of minutes. I could see on ESPN game cast what happened and then watch it a minute later.

there seems to be a delay with YoutubeTV also. It does not seem to be as "bad" as with Sling, but the sample size is small. Noticeably better picture quality than Sling.

RE: Question - Streaming TV channels
I'm having issues with the feed. Switched over to ESPN app and it's behind where YouTube was.

Switched back and the feed is perfect, much better than ESPN app.

I have the stick downstairs and a Roku 3 in the bedroom. Both stream better than my smart TVs ever have. No issues.
