RE: Week 5 Attendance
N Texas, UAB and WKU... nice job on the attendance.

Last season, CUSA average attendance was 19,248. Hopefully we can average > 20k this season.

RE: Week 5 Attendance
I'd be in Heaven if MT ever averaged 20,000. Even with a weak UT team having already tanked in Georgia Saturday afternoon and with the Vandy game almost over in Nashville; we still barely broke 17,000. If we can't pull some more of our MT alums (who drive to Knoxville/or go over to West End Avenue, or just stay home to watch those two or some other SEC squad on TV) into the Boro on Saturdays; we ought to be ashamed!!!!!

RE: Week 5 Attendance
Nice looking crowd UNT. I was happy with our attendance on Saturday, but I'm jealous of our conference brethren that play in smaller stadiums where the crowd can actually look good all the way around the stadium.

Do you guys have ways to build out of needed? 30k as a record seems very low

Sounds like 30,000+ is just one more measuring stick that UNT and MT share. To my knowledge our Georgia Tech home game a few years ago still stands as our all-time attendance record and we barely broke 30,000 with that one. I suspect that UNT is close enough to Dallas and Middle Tennessee is close enough to Nashville that we should both do much better. I also suspect that winning and quality marketing can cure these problems for both of these programs.

Rice's top 10 attendances start at 70,000 and peaks at 73,000. One of the best things that could happen for this conference is for Rice to become very strong in FB (and sustain).

30,100+ is really close to all the stadium can hold. The total capacity of Apogee is 30,850.

Yes, the stadium can be expanded. It was designed to be expanded to 50,000-55,000, if/when the demand requires it.

If you look at my "Master Plan" thread, there is a video showing the coming renovation of the athletic center and stadium features. This is a short term project, and will probably begin soon after the indoor practice facility is finished (2019-20?). Yes, Apogee is only a few years old, but we are already updating and making changes. With the expansion of the athletic center, the south end zone of Apogee will get a different look. The current player entrance will be replaced with what appears to be a subterranean entrance that emerges from the athletic center. Also, the large video board will go away, and new boards of the same size will be placed in each of the 4 corners of the stadium. You can see two of the video boards in the picture below. I'm excited about the changes.

You are crazy as hell the stadium filled up very well by mid first qt... now if you are talking after halftime then you are correct

lets not forget unlike some, or should I say most in this conference. Western's scan and reported attendance is 95.1%. So why would you think 2018 would be any different than 2017?

Counting the berm's 1500 the stadium can hold 25k

Yo Guns. Why don’t you take that article that reported the scan vs reported number and multiply the Original Post numbers by the percentage these schools are known by.

That’d be interesting! You know you can multiply Western’s reported by .951

Then see where everyone ranks.

Waste of time their eyeball test is more actuate than what a open record request shows. Considering all the federal dollars every school gets and some spent on sports...its probably against some federal law to a false open record request. Or their ticket didn't get scanned so that goes for the other 10,000 that didn't get counted.

In all of the games I went to in the SBC and CUSA my ticket was scanned everytime but once. At that monsoon at FIU we walked in a open gate right beside the ticket booth instead of walking around to where there were manned gates. But thats it.

People dont take into count...SPREAD. I know when there's empty seats around my son and I we can easily take up 4 spaces just so we got elbow room. But from sitting across the field it cant be seen

Even in that picture of UNT's "full stadium" you can see people taking up more than the 29 inches for each seat number

mber

That's a good point and it is one reason UTEP fans, including me, often have thought that the official attendance was under reported. Unfortunately, I havn't had that thought lately.

La Tech fans traveled very well to Denton last week. Thanks guys !

You guys had more fans at Apogee than SMU did. And, SMU is only 40 minutes away :(

That is why it would be a crime for SMU to ever become a P5 program in football. I don't care how much donor money they have, their actual attendance (not announced) is just putrid. When they do get a decent crowd, it is only because they are playing a larger program that draws well (most are opposing fans).

Yea, I thought just from eyeballing it that it was closer to that as well. Still, it's definitely an improvement from where we were.

I'm really excited to see what the crowds will be like in a couple of years when we get in the new stadium.

I would think more LT fans would make the game. Looks like only around 300-400 from this picture. I'm thinking USM will have just as much, if not more for the USM/UNT game next week. I'll be there! Looking forward to it!

I don't believe you. So, send us a photo JUST LIKE THIS ONE, and we'll compare the USM attendance to LA Tech's.
