Fortunately I fell asleep and when I came back it was 49-20. Got to see another score before Fresno emptied the bench instead of going for 56. Defense looked good for about 2 possessions in this game. Actually, more than that - but those were when we had possession of the ball.

Kinda thankful for ESPN's poorly designed app. Went to watch the replay this morning but the score popped up before I could hit the watch tab. Saved me the frustration of witnessing the trainwreck. At least I wont be in as bad of a mood for the rest of the day. What happened to Guadagni?

Candle knew the D was bad last season and did nothing about it. Same coaches, same results.

Tip of the hat to Fresno State for turning things around there. Very impressive.
Just found out Guadagni did not play in the 2nd half. Hope he heals up, but don't put him out there too quickly.
Link to the game story on the UT site.

Not changing the LB personnel is even a bigger mystery.... after last year the number one priority should have been finding more experienced talent at LB. JC route or even Graduate transfer etc. For three straight years, #17 can’t make a play by mistake. We literally are playing with 10 guys on the field when ever he is out there. I don’t blame the kid in any way. He is doing the best he can. He is just not talented enough to be playing at this level and it’s the coaches job to recognize what is obvious to almost anyone that understands football and replace with a player they have identified through the recruiting process that fits the scheme they are trying to implement. We have more than enough talent at DL and Secondary to be much better than how we currently are performing. At this point, wasting a redshirt should be last thing anyone should be concerned worth. We tend to waste redshirts on skill positions all the time, it sure I understand why nothing is being done. It been three years of HS level play from the LB position without any improvement.

With that new rule about playing 4 games & still being able to redshirt, I’m trying to think if any other true freshman has even played this season other than Hines? Might we see at least a couple in the next few MAC games? LBers, perhaps?

Looks like Bolden is still getting PT...although I think it’s mainly special teams. I also noticed a few other FR, aside from Hines that are getting time on D...Desjaun Johnson (85), Terrance Taylor (87) and Dyontae Johnson (45).
