Well, now I have to join the club. Doc has came and went. Unless the season goes much differently the rest of the way, we might turn into a 6-5, 7-4 team. It’s not about losing, it’s about how we lost. Time for a reset.

RE: How I feel about Marshall football right now.
Confusing thread. Mora spends 90% of the video talking about turnovers in the NFL, and then the last few seconds addressing something about whether his team can make the NFL playoffs because he's not sure they can even win another game, so I'm not sure what the point is.

Is the point that Marshall is committing a lot of turnovers, which is what this thing is really about? Is it that Marshall is playing so poorly you feel you may not win another game? Or is this, in some roundabout sort of way, supposed to address the college playoff system?

People are going in different directions with this.

RE: How I feel about Marshall football right now.
The Marshall fans who cried about Green and are now crying about Doc Holliday need some perspective.

I believe in Green as a player, I was never on board with the “start Thompson” crowd.

Now all of you who want Doc gone sound just like Southern Miss fans who wanted Jeff Bower gone. They got what they wished for, one peak 2011 season under Fedora.

But a lot of pain and rebuilding followed.

I for one suggest EVERYONE calm down.

That’s just it. Who in the hell can Marshall afford to hire? A young fireball up and coming coach? Outstanding. We will have two or three years rebuilding, have a great season after the third or fourth year, then poof! He’s hired away. And forget any
High profile coach.

Take the best coach we can afford, forget the He has to have Marshall West Virginia connections. Doc (WV connection) is average coach at best, he benefited from the CUSA reboot that swapped out ECU for Charlotte, Houston for UTSA, UCF for FAU/FIU, in short his record against the same CUSA teams Snyder coached against wasn't much better. Snyder a Marshall alumnus was not head coach material. Get that young guy let him rebuild bring in better talent and yes get hired away. Granted it was FCS but that model worked with Stan Parish 2 seasons (win pct .614), George Chaump 3 seasons (win pct .670), Jim Donnan 6 seasons (win pct .713). Marshall got better and player quality improved even with frequent turnover.

Doc has to go....NOW!

BTW, I've been a supporter of IG from day one. He is going to be really good imo.

agree, If UCF ran the table again we wouldn't get a sniff.

Who did UCF play out of conference? I think they would have to include this year after the “national championship” last year

They forget Alabama really skews those totals....most SEC teams can't beat Bama at home OR away, and EVERY ONE of our games against Bammar is on the road.

Take Bama out, and USM's record v the SEC is 28-57......I'd say as good or better than OP and MSUcks ON THE ROAD against the same teams....and light years ahead of our C-USA doubters, many who have NEVER beaten an SEC foe.

You can but I'm not putting in that work. I was only pointing out that overall the schools on the list were not historically completive (in W/L) 04-cheers

Even without looking I'm sure at least 95% of those games against the SEC are away games, with the largest total against Bama, ALL on the road.

Fixed

Oh yeah...since we're playing this game:

USM 24-30 v ACC 75% on the road, take FSU out, and USM is 22-18

USM 11-22 v Big 12, at least 75% on road; take Nebraska out, and USM is 10-17

OK, I wanna see some of our other big talkin' schools (besides Rice) who has more than 1 or 2 wins against any of these schools.

You can take statistics and come up with whatever phony information you want.04-cheers

Different game if we'd just told the players not to turn the ball over. Have to remember to do that next time.

In my opinion, Green is going to be very special. I think he is better than Cato, Pennington, and Leftwich were at this same point in their first few starts. Someone care to create a comparison because I could be wrong?

Dream on.

UCF will not make the playoff, their OOC is SC State, FAU, Pittsburgh and UNC which was postponed, I do not believe they have set a make up date.

The CFP doesn't "have" to include anyone because the Colley Matrix picked them as national champs the previous season.

And with an OOC of FAMU, @FAU, Stanford, @Pitt in 2019, they could probably go undefeated again next year and still be left out if there are four undefeated P5 champs and even if the P5 can't produce four undefeated champs, even coming in at 41-0 going back to the start of 2017, they'd likely need Stanford and Pitt to both be 10 win teams to be taken seriously.

The path for a G5 to the 4 team CFP is nearly nonexistent.

Green is DEFINITELY better than Litton was at this point of his career.

Let me be 100% clear. I’m both a staunch Marshall and NY Giants fan.

I don’t know if any of you watch the NFL or have followed the IMMENSE screw jobs the NFL officials have given the Giants this year, directly and outright attributing to the outcome of NFL games...I can say this.

It feels a WHOLE lot better to be a Marshall fan right now than it does to be a NY Giants fan.

3-2 or having your heart ripped out by a rigged NFL product?

No brainer.

If you want to cherry pick then you must take UofL out of the ACC total because all of those games came before UofL was in the ACC or P5...remove 15 wins same goes for Vtech 3 wins removed because they were not in a P5

So that actually leaves 4 total wins vs ACC schools (I cant find the other 2 out of the 24 you listed)...2 each over NCST & Virg.

That's 1 more win than Western has vs SEC schools since moving up in 2009

I don't think our #s against P5 are all that bad for a small school, with 5 SEC schools in our backyard that just leave us the leftovers when recruiting comes around and has a tiny budget. Do you disagree?

Your numbers are good, but counting wins against Louisville as wins against the ACC is beyond disingenuous.
